AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Wednesday, November 15, 2006

so i'm thinking of transferring home next year.

thoughts?

i dont know i mean i feel like of like a big wuss but this year has been so hard because ive been homesick--like, my schoolwork has suffered because of it and i really cant afford to make bad grades!

and this has been going though my mind for awhile...starting the beginning of the semester. and then i mentioned it to my parents the last time i was at home, and they were all for me transferring or staying, it really doesnt matter to them (as long as it's not KU unfortunately) which is refreshing--i can decide to do it or not and they're fine with both.

but then after discussing it with them and kaitlin and katie i came back to kentucky and started having fun again. like i had been way homesick but then it got a lot more fun, and i started working out and going to football games and stuff--it got better.

but now my grades are kicking my butt, and its because i slacked off so much at the beginning because i was so homesick...i think i can pull them up with my finals but im not really sure about biology--

well except that he curves every exam 20 points including the final in dec. and he will also be  curving final grades  and adjusting the grading scale (so that 80 = an A, for ex. instead of a B)

ps what the hell is the point of that? if you have to work THAT HARD
to get grades up to a decent standard, shouldnt you make the tests
easier
or give homework or something?  its so fucking stupid. I
hate my bio teacher. HATE HIM.

anyway. i just thought id write it out to see if it made any difference, but it probably wont...oh well.

going to shower and then to my first UK basketball game in the ERUPPTION zone!!!!!!! there ARE 2 p's there for a reason, hahaha, its in RUPP arena! get it?!

later guys!

At times the world may seem an unfriendly and sinister place

But believe us when we say that there is much more g o o d in it than b.a.d.;

All you have to do is lOOk hard enough

And what may )seem( to be a series of unfortunate events may in fact be the <first steps> of a .j.o.u.r.n.e.y.

------Mr. and Mrs. Beudelaire, A Series of Unfortunate Events

***

life never ceases in surprising even the most wise or experienced of all of us.  Unfortunate things happen all of the time; to me, to you, to people living in Juarez, Mexico, where I was fortunate enough to build a house for people less fortunate than me and many of my close friends.

unfortunate things happen to countries--planes smash into buildings, hurricanes rip cities from the ground, war rips families apart. Life, in a sense, ruins lives.

many unfortunate things have happened to people who did not deserve them in the least.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt was crippled with polio. However, we were fortunate that he was the President of the United States in a time when the nation needed, above all things, a savior. He remains one of the most respected men in America.

Hellen Keller was blind and deaf, yet still is one of the most respected women of our time.

Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles are both blind, but find solace, fortunately for all of us, in their playing and composing of amazing music.

Even the Mexican family in Juarez, living in a pallet house with a dirt floor and no bathroom, is fortunate. They are <blessed> with the bond of family, and of love, 2 of the strongest bonds of all.

Everywhere we turn, there are dark days to be found and dim paths to follow.

But look around in the dark. Because whether you know it or not, there is a light for you somewhere, no matter how long or hard you have to look for it.

And, although you may think yourself highly unfortunate to have to do something, whether it be stay up late to do homework, or move away from home, or rebuild after a hurricane...

all of us, really, are more fortunate than we will ever realize.

i just thought id re-post this...its how ive been feeling lately.

love.
