Lead Singers Found on You Tube?
Well there seems to be a new method of finding lead singers for bands. First there was Journey looking for a new lead singer which they found in a You Tube Video. Now it seems Boston has done the same thing. After Brad Delp commited suicide earlier this year I had heard that Boston would ceast to exist, but then a friend told me that they found a new lead singer that sounded just like Brad Delp. Where did they find this lead singer, again on You Tube. So it appears that now if you want to be a lead singer just post your video on You Tube and you're chances might be pretty good. You won't be finding me out there any times soon and if you do, you'll more than likely beg me to remove it before my singing breaks your ear drums or drives you to insanity.
What do you think of this trend? Have you heard of any other bands finding band mates this way? If so let me know.Blogged with the Flock Browser

Flock Browser
I'm testing out a new browser called Flock that was recommended by a friend of my wifes. It has blogging capabilities built in so I can create my post within the built in blog editor without having to go to Zanga. And it supports multiple blogs like Blogger, LifeJorunal, WordPress, and even Self-Hosted Blogs. It even lets you edit HTML so you can get it to look just right.
Here is a photo I took a couple weeks ago. In order to make this appear I had to put it out on one of my web sites and then tell the editor what the exact URL was including the image name which isn't always easy. If you're interested check out http://www.flock.com/

A Guy and His Dog
I was walking by the river on Tuesday with my camera around my neck. As I walked by a bench with a couple homeless people and their dog one of the guys asked me to take his picture. So I figured what the heck, he wasn't asking for money so I obliged. His friend wanted nothing to do with the picture so he got out of the way. After I took his picture I asked him his dogs name. He told me his dogs name was Bandit, so then I asked if I could pet him and he said sure. So I gave the dog some love and told the guy he had a beautiful dog. I sort of expected the dog go be snarky but he was so gently and very good. He then asked me if I wanted the dog. I told him I already had a dog (it could be the cynic in me but I think he wanted to sell his dog to me), so then he thanked me for taking his picture and I thanked him for letting me pet his dog. He stuck his hand out to shake my hand and we shook hands and parted ways.
I left this experience feeling good for a couple of reasons. One, it's not like me to talk to strangers, heck it's not like me to talk to anybody I don't know, just ask my spouse. Two, while TV seems to depict homeless people as either violent or mentally ill, this helped disprove this stereo type and help reinforce the fact that all types of people can be homeless.

First Post In A While
It's been awhile since I posted. This has been due in part to laziness, and to the fact that my camera has been out of commission, not because it was broken because the sensor was dirty and my first attempt to clean it made it worse. Then I went looking for a kit to clean the sensor and the first one the sales guy showed me cost $170. Or I could pay about $75 for them to service the camera. I didn't like either option so I went to another store and found a kit for $22. I cleaned my sensor and now I'm back in business but for those of you with DSLR's you probably shouldn't do what I did. First off everything I've read says to get a mini vaccum cleaner designer for your camera. Then if you need to clean get a kit that will clean your sensor. Why did I take a chance, because my camera is insured so if anything happens to it, it will be replaced. So with my sensor cleaned here is one of the first photo's I took and then the same photo below after I tweaked it a little bit. Which one do you like better?

This weeks subject was suggested by AssipassiCandids
I was talking at lunch time on Thursday and I heard somebody playing drums. I thought what I heard were real drums but as I got closer I noticed this guy playing pails, empty water jubs, and glass bottles. He sounded really good. I had intended on dropping some money in his collection bin but when I got back he was gone. HIs "drum kit" was still there but he was heading off probably to get some food or drink, or both. After I found out Thursday night what the topic was going to be for the challenge I knew I had my pictures but then for some strange reason my mind went to thinking, "what if this guy is on America's Most wanted list." Weird how the mind does things like this. Of course now that I've put that thought in print it will probably come true.
