Reflections on the Big Book story "The Man Who Mastered Fear"

This is such an inspiring story, riches to rags to riches, what a country - what a program. The author touched me many times. I shared his despair when he describe alcohol as a crutch and tool to withdraw from life. I laughed when he asked his friend for help and his friend bought him a couple shots and took him to AA. I share the experience of the first prayer to a higher power for help where I had to physically force my knees to bend and put aside any and all inhibitions or die drinking. The most inspiring part of the story is struggle to build a new life from nothing and the energy and excitement it brought and his refusal to give up and go back to the old life. God I love this program!
