Wecome home!  I'm so glad to see you on line again.  I was getting worried about you.  Guess I missed it if you posted that you would be gone.  My son is coming to this area for several weeks before going on to Taiwan so I'll get my new computer and go on DSL when he gets it all set up.  That will allow me so many advantages with the computer plus my home phone line won't be tied up when I'm on line.  Have to have DSL and the new computer to be able to talk free to the g-kids, son and dil while they are in Taiwan for the year.  The g-kids called this a.m.-----son patches them through.  We are finally getting Sydney so that she sorta realizes that when she is going to bed we are eating breakfast.  She always has to ask if it is dark at our house.  They are 13 hrs. ahead of us.  They are so funny to talk to.

It is still scary dry here.  Have been declared a disaster area.  Called the nursery this a.m. to talk to them about a yr. old tree dying.  Will try several more things but think it will have to be replaced in the fall.

You are so good to go and help people or to have them into your home and help that way.  Know that you are going to have all sorts of jewels in your crown.

Sorry about getting bumped of the computer all the time!  That used to happen to us, too.  Then wireless internet became available and it's online all the time (which is SO nice!).  My joke folder has 583 FWDs that I have not read yet, most just since Drew has been born.  I read some, but there are so many of them!  If I find one that is really good, I may pass it on to a couple of people.  But most of them I've seen before, and I REALLY hate the ones that say, "if you love me, you'll send it back" or such nonsense.

Make that 584 fwds now.  LOL!

Just a follow-up on the comment FarmersWife made, to my entry.  I don't even open them.....just hit the delete button.  I LOVE personal letters, but detest those FORWARDS!!!  If It's  not "important enough" to just write a note, then DON'T BOTHER ME WITH THAT TRASH!!!    Maybe that's why I enjoy Xanga so much.  It's about your personal lives, and I enjoy your sharing that.    Like FarmersWife, I particicularly hate the ones that say, "If you love me, you'll send this back", or "If you believe in Christ, you'll send this on".   Those are the dumbest ones of all.  

AND HEY!!!   I'M STILL ON LINE!!!!  I'M AMAZED!!!!    I HAVE, however, called the computer repair lady.

Thanks, Granny.  I'm glad to know that I'm not THAT horrible a mom for letting him cry.  BTW, it didn't work.  I ended up laying down with him in my bed and nursing him down for his nap.  But I did get the pool fixed for Chance, 2 loads of laundry folded, more going, and the kitchen mopped, and some weeds outside pulled.

about my internet.  It's not DSL.  Just wireless internet.  There is a tower in town that puts out a signal, and my local provider gave me a modem to hook up to the computer.  It works much like a radio antenae.  But as you know, my computer is in the livingroom.  The modem can only get a signal in my bedroom window, so there is a wire stretching from the bedroom, thru the laundry room, kitchen, and into the living room closet to the computer.  You have seen how flat it is here and treeless, therefore, I can pick up the signal from 30 miles away!  I love it!  For what it's worth, the internet people said I lived too far out, too.  But I insisted on trying it, and it worked!  So I got to throw that back in their face!  LOL!

Ditto Granny on the if you love Jesus stuff! I say thanks and delete or just delete. Jesus doesn't need forwards but He does need ME to keep moving forward, so later for that stuff! Hope your internet problem gets solved. It is very frustrating to get bumped off line. That used to happen to me too and also seemed to be in the middle of something important. I feel your GGGRRRRssss!!! Lady!!

I agree with you totally about the "forwards". We have a dear friend who just lost her husband in a horrible accident.  He was only 35.  She is a very Christian lady and I guess she gets tons of the spiritual e-mails from her church family.  She always sends them to me and I hate not to do her the courtesy of reading them.  I was reading them and sending them back to her, but have gotten to where I just delete them.  She only lives a couple of blocks away and we talk often, so there is no need to tie my computer up with all this nonsence.    Glad you are back, safe and sound.  Sorry to hear about your friend's husband.

ryc: yes, Abbie is our 1yr old Bassett Hound.  She only weighs 50lbs. hehe.  I also know what you mean about catching up.  I have quit trying.  I may go back one or two entries, but have too much to do to try to go back a whole week.  (new jobs suck)  After a couple of days, I get back on and have to have my "fix"

I get tired of the forwards also I will get 75 - 100 some days... I have two ladies that both get bunches of the same emails from someone and both of them FORWARD them to me.  I usually delete them unless the title looks interesting after the FWD.  I have a few people that send forwards that I do read because they do not send a lot and the ones they send are usually cute.  And I am with you. I NEVER return the ones that say to and I NEVER add my name to those lists to forward no matter what the cause.

Nice to have you back, but I'm sorry about your 'puter problems.  About your friend's hubby; how old is he?  Has he been diagnosed?  Usually a mental illness manifests before mid-life, has he had a brain scan?  With Mother, there were signs that were dismissed until the symptoms became too pronounced to ignore.  She was in her mid to late thirties by then. 

Even though his reality is distorted, he can live with it.  It's the wife who will suffer terribly.  I sure hope she has a good support system!

I don't get as many forwards as I used to since I simply delete them without opening them....

Since we've gotten the new computer and are on DSL, it has made a huge difference.  Having a slow computer means that you are online for a lengthy time just to do a few things and that gets discouraging.

I am with you -I hate those stupid e mails--I dont have to forward anything to show I love Jesus--besides he knows where I live and I dont think  he's up there checking e mail.( Just to be safe I ran outside and shout--Hey Lord I'm still right here and I love ya)

Hope your computer problems are getting better!  That's so aggravating when you keep getting kick off the internet.  I used to have that problem a lot when I used dial up.

I'm with you on all the crap that comes through.  I know a lady in East Texas that must send me 10 emails a day.  Either political, religious or 'cute'.  I end up deleting half of them.  I don't mind it once in a while but it gets to be too much.  She must sit on the computer all day long to come up with this stuff!! 

And speaking of Boysenberry jam---want one?????
