DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START!!
Had to get the calendar out to ‘think back’ to where I left off last time.
Aug. 28…. Took the meal I’d fixed, to my friends who have illness in the family, came home and helped Larry and Cindy trim trees and brush. I then made US some more beef and noodles, made green beans had cottage cheese, and Cindy made apple salad, then we ate potluck in my house.
Aug. 29…..It rained, so I caught up on this year’s book work. Hadn’t worked on books since I did income tax in February. I HATE BOOK WORK!!! Got it all caught up.
Aug. 30…Rain stopped, so we worked on trimming trees and brush again. I can’t remember WHEN my joints and muscles have hurt so terribly!!!
Aug. 31….Got the mower out to start mowing the front yard. Needed a baler instead of a mower. When I got to the corner of the front yard, at the end of my lane, Larry had his chain saw fired up, cutting down a @^%$#@ mulberry tree. I HATE THOSE THINGS!!! Birds eat the berries, sit on a branch of another tree, poop on the ground beneath and LIKE MAGIC, A MILLION MULBERRY TREES under THAT tree. Or they sit on the branches of a tree over the patio, and LIKE MAGIC………PURPLE PAINT!!! Or you hang clothes out to dry and have to re-wash them because of purple bird poop!!! I gave up…..took the clothes line down years ago……….well back to my third sentence on this date. I got off the mower and went across the lane to help drag limbs. He looked at me and said “If you even TOUCH that limb, I QUIT!!!” He knew I had been hurting beyond pain pills. I crawled back on the mower, and mowed the yard. Cindy went to help Larry. When I finished with the yard, I went on back and mowed most of the pond area.
Sept. 1…..Larry and Cindy took their camper home, so they could get ready to go to Montuck (sp) Missouri, to go trout fishing. I got on the mower and re-mowed the front yard. It had piled so badly the day before, and grown over an inch overnight, that I mowed it again to spread out the clumped grass.
Sept. 3…. Skipped church. Went to the family reunion for my mother’s side of the family. Sandy, my friend from Mo., came in the afternoon, and we went to the local Labor Day Town Picnic, where she saw several of the friends she knew, when she lived in this area.
Sept. 4…..Sandy and I had not played duets on the piano and organ for SO LONG. We pounded away at that, all morning. It was SO much fun and just like old times. We then went to the local family Restaurant, had lunch, and she headed on back for Missouri.
Sept. 5……One of the landladies who own some of the ground we farm, had surgery and I sat with the family all day and into the night at the hospital. My neighbors left for the west coast, and I’m dog-sitting Molly. My family took turns coming down to take care of her while I was at the hospital.
Sept. 6……Had lunch with one of my husband’s cousins, then came home and sprayed the lawn for next spring’s weeds, with the big sprayer on the golf cart. Four hours.
Sept. 7……Sue and I cleaned the house.
Sept. 8……My cousin came during the morning to visit, and go over genealogy notes. Bean checks arrived and I went to deposit them in the bank.
Sept. 9……Held down the couch.
Sept. 10…..Skipped church. SouthForkCheerMom’s Jeff, came down to help me drag hoses and water the neighbor’s flowers. She has a huge old fashioned country yard just FULL of flowers. Took about an hour. Thank goodness for Jeff…I don’t think my shoulders would have EVER let me wind those hoses back up, and my legs wouldn’t help me drag them. Came home and spent the rest of the day on the couch…….trying to cater to my joints and muscles. Worried about Molly’s leg. She’s limping terribly and not eating. Called the vet and he said give her aspirin.
Sept. 11….Today.....Molly was restless all night. Didn’t eat or drink yesterday. Can't squat to potty, hard to walk. Called the vet again and took her in. He X-rayed her leg and thinks she’s pulled a tendon. (sp) Gave her some medicine that will help with the pain and inflammation. She’s MUCH BETTER, this afternoon, already. Ate some lunch, including some tomatoes I stole out of the neighbor’s garden, and held down the couch while I watched a movie I’d recorded. I was going to mow this afternoon, but it rained all morning. Sure am glad Jeff and I watered all those flowers yesterday. (~;
So, now, for those who’ve e-mailed me saying
“WHERE ARE YOU???? THAT’S WHERE I WAS.
OH MY……..Another too-long-post!!!
Now, I’m gonna run around over Xanga Land and see who’s posted today............Granny
P.S. Xanga has changed since I last posted. I don't see where it allows for comments. If it looks that way on your end, tell me how to fix it and I'll correct it. Thanks
