ARE YOU ALL ACQUAINTED WITH  20 Q?

If not, you’ll find it hanging in the toy department of Wal*Mart.  It’s a little electronic game (ball shaped) and it costs about  $10.00.   It asks you questions about an item, of which you’re thinking, and tries to guess what it is.  Your answers can be one of four…. “Yes”, “No”, “Unknown”,  or “Sometimes”.

Well, this morning, I had polished my nails and it seems I ALWAYS get active too soon afterwards and smudge them, so this morning, having plans for the weekend,  I decided it wasn’t going to happen.  I picked up the 20 Q, and thought of “cow manure”,  just KNOWING I was smarter than the ball THIS TIME.  Well, it began asking me the questions.  You ain’t gonna believe this!!!!  When it came time to guess, it said “You’re thinking of Poop.”   Darned ball!!!

I had my car cleaned a couple of days ago.  Even though the weather was just AWFUL, I’d had the appointment for about a week, so I followed through.  I brought it home in a downpour, and wind blowing about 35 mph.  I had emptied it TOTALLY, before taking it in, and the stuff was still sitting around to be resorted, and put back in.  After my nails dried, that’s what I did.  Sort it.   So now, I have it all ready to put back in the car.   Medicines and health items, in one plastic bag, folded paper towels in another, nail clippers, tweezers, Plackers, dental floss, in another, flash light and a small set of screwdrivers in one, …..well, you get the picture.  I’ve also refilled the coin holder for quick change, when I go thru the drive up, or for the toll-way in case I get to go on another trip.  Now, I just gotta get it back in the car.  That’ll only take a minute or two.  I also have new Astroturf to cut in the right size for floor mats.  I have the ones that came with the car, I just lay it on top of those, and it’s WONDERFUL for keeping rocks and chaff from getting on the carpet.  Also helps keep the backs of your shoes looking nice a bit longer, from driving.

That was such valuable information, I just HAD to share it with you Xanga Addicted Folks, so you’d have something to read.

Got a phone call from a good friend in Oklahoma this morning.  It was so nice to hear from her.  Always is.   During the conversation, she talked about what I’d put on my Xanga a few days ago.  Didn’t know she was reading it.  Hi Ellen.  You know, you COULD join this and write what YOU’RE doing, so we could all read about you.  (~;    (However, I think she's a bit more refined than writing about making a ball guess "Cow Manure")  She grew up about a mile down the road from where I now live.   She has her own shop and makes draperies.  They’re going out with their children this evening to celebrate their 50th anniversary.    Happy Anniversary, Bob and Ellen.

Better get the stuff back in the car, and get the rest of it put away or thrown away.  The kitchen’s a mess.

Catch you all next time,   Granny

I had never heard of Q10 till you mentioned it a while back. I went and bought one -so far 3 have got carried off!!! I keep mine in the glove box now so if I have to wait some where I have it to play with or if we are driving a ways we play it--it's amazing---Hubby decided it was listening to us so he wrote down his word--lol--it still guessed it! This last time we got the long one that looks like a bar--a little easier to read

I saw that 20Q on TV the other night!  How freaky that it actually works!

RYC:  I HAVE thought about fostering.  Jeff isn't for it.  At least not right now.  But my problem is, I wouldn't want to give the baby back.  :o)

Too bad I can't just be like the dairyman who buys all of our hay.  He has 9 kids.  First 8 were girls.  LOL!

Your posts always make me smile.  I love the 20Q and also the Magic 8-Ball.  Always a lot of fun.

We had a lot of the same wind the other day.  I drove straight into it, going to work that morning.  Gusts up to 50 mph.  My palms were white and sweaty when I got to work.  lol.

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes.  You are so sweet.  I actually love birthdays.  My mom always made it our special day.  Like our very own holiday.  I think the bummer thing is that JC will be working midnights and sleeping all day, so I will just relax and enjoy some tv.

I just saw that on TV yesterday - I think it was on "the View" and Rosie O'Donnell was gushing over it.  It must be eerily perfect.

We have had that game for a couple of years, and it really is amazing.  I'm not sure where it is right now, probably lost in my son's junk!  You sound really organized and I guess I WILL have to invite you here sometime to give me some help, haha.

Astro turf... I've seen door mats for the house of it, but they are to expensive to cut up. Guess I'll shop in a cheaper place.

btw I thought of your cardboard knife holder suggestion. I'm concerned as you can dull a good knife real quick with paper, so what will happen sliding it in and out of cardboard if you happen to hit a side?

Thanks for the note.  I'll have to look for that ball thing, sounds fun. Give me some ideas of things at your store for a teen and pre-teen, there is one down the hill from my house. I never go in on weekends, too crowded and the check out is awful, but I love the prices.

I haven't seen the 20Q game....might have to check that out. Your car must be as organized as your home, at least it sounds like it's "fully equipped". Hope you had a good weekend.

Yes, I remember that game.. You got me hooked on it while you were here, LOL... if anyone wants to try it out before buying one you can see how it works by playing it online at http://www.20q.net/   I think adults have more fun with it than kids do.  We used it at one event by dividing up into two groups.. Team one chose the item..  Without telling team two what the item was they let the 20Q ball ask questions.. Both the questions and answers were given out loud.. the apposing team tried to guess what the item was before the ball did.  The ball usually won.  We did find out that some local items not found in other parts of the USA would stump the ball, but on general items it is hard to fool it.

Granny--- it also will guess "vibrator" (LMAO!)  I have one of the 20Q games... I took it to work... and working in the ER... you can only imagine what all of us came up with for it to guess!!!  Also... do you still keep "Winterfresh & Juicy Fruit" along with a little toy bunny that you can move his arms and legs in the car?  I just remember that being in the old red van when us kids were always with you...

Love ya,

Jackie

We have one of those balls...they are very entertaining. I've only fooled it one time that I can think of and I can't remember what it was that I was thinking of. :)

Yes I am familiar with 20Q.... last year I visited my friend while she was at the hospital with a sick hubby.... she said look what we got at Target.... she got her's for like 5 bucks.... well needless to say we had a ball with it and went out and bout 6.  LOL   Put them in Christmas stockings...and brought them back to UK for friend and sister n law's family!  I need to dig around and find it and give it another play.  They are fun!  The little jokes it cracks during the game are quite funny!  I bet u had a nice Turkey day...ready for Christmas?  Have a nice week!
