 THE PICTURES YOU ASKED FOR.........

Several of you folks have asked for pictures of the combine I blogged about a few weeks back.   With the help of SouthForkCheerMom, maybe I can post these.  They've been on my 35mm camera for weeeeeks, and I just now had them developed.

1)  Left to right, my son Dale, the two fellows who delivered it, and Dylan, Dale's son.
combine 1

2)  A couple of days later, Dale and neighbor Mark, towed home the headers for the new combine.  Dale pulling the bean head with his truck and Mark bringing the corn head.  Hard to tell about the corn head, because the snouts are folded up.
Combine2

3)  After Dale began picking corn, the den mothers, and boy scouts, from a local chapter, came out and each took a ride while picking corn.  (All in-town-kids, I might add)

4)  Dale, helper Bill, and neighbor friend Mark, discussing the trip they've just made to bring home the combine heads.

He's harvested all his crops with it, by now, has it all cleaned and washed and put in the shed, and is now disking stalks, and in the process of getting the ground ready for next year's plantings.

Since I last posted, I've gone to a birthday party for the minister, a wiener roast, had MaLayna's first birthday party in my basement last Friday night, gone to a BEAUTIFUL wedding last Saturday, and have another one to go to this coming weekend.  Had company for all of last weekend, and have company coming for the wedding this weekend too.

O.K., SouthForkCheerMom......I'm forwarding this to you, so you can include the pictures.  Me.....I'm going in to get a bath and take a nap.  Post my blog for me when you get done, will ya' please?

(This is SFCM.... She is such a pain in the tush!  I was up til midnight posting this!  LOL)

Bye

Yeah, I was wondering about that corn head with the snouts folded up (I'm teasing.....you  are way over my head with the combine info).  What strikes me is how huge that thing is!  My dad told me about working on a combine years ago.  Even with the heavy equipment, farming still seems like very hard but satisfying work.  Thanks to you and SFCM for sharing.

I don't know what half that stuff is but it sure looks interesting !!-Is that the thing that eats up the morning glorys?????????

Granny--your my hero--I want to be just like you--to busy to slow down !

RYC--I agree about the burying spot--like I told the guy-it's not like I was going to set up lawn chairs and need a shade !!

It did hurt that I'm not close to family in the old part--but you get over it and go on--they didn't like me that much any way !!!

THAT MACHINE IS HUGE!!! How do they get into it? I would need a ladder with my short legs!! Your daughter did a good job of posting them. I think people would appreciate it more when we go to the grocery store if they could take farming tours. Now we need to see one of YOU behind the wheel, Granny!

Somehow I must have missed the post about you burning your hair!  OUCH!  Glad your hair is finally growing out.  That machine looks like it was really $$$.  It's just great farmers have these things to help them, isn't it?  I'm sure the little ones loved riding.  Neat pics.
