  • Daughter graduating

May 9 was my daughter's college graduation night, and here she is, left, center, getting all the finishing touches from her brother and mother.

The yellow sash was because she was an honors graduate of San Jacinto College as a inductee into Phi Theta Kappa, the junior college version of Phi Beta Kappa scholarship honorary fraternity.

We didn't get very good seats, and there were about 500 graduates and families and friends.

So it was a miracle that this photo of her processing, below right, taken at over 200 feet, turned out at all, much less of her recognizeable at top, center.

    But process she did.

And I did not get any more printable pictures of her during the ceremony.

Dr. Robert Sloan, left, president of Houston Baptist University, was the speaker.

After the ceremony, we prevailed upon another guest to take a picture, below right, of Kiersten, surrounded by her parents and flanked by her brother and step-mother.

It was a happy time for us all, and we went out for dinner later.

    At l'Madeleine.
