I'm too tired to actually write in a nice format, so I just did the outline type... not like anyone reads this anyway
Friday: Got out of work at 2pm and went to get my hair straightened and trimmed. It came out well and I'm pleased with it, only it cost me lots more than I thought it was going to be. Ah well! Then I picked up Mike and we went out to eat at CPK. After that, we shopped around a little bit at the mall and headed back to his place.
Saturday: Headed to Rutgers around lunchtime for some Fat Cats and the football game. We all met at Old Queens Tavern and had a few pitchers before heading off to the game an hour late. Boy am I glad that we didn't go at kickoff. The sun was blaring and it was super hot outside. Some random people were in our seats so we kicked them out... haha! Poor Frank had to gimp around on crutches b/c he fractured a bone in his foot or something. The game was cool and I had lots more fun than I originally thought I would. The sun finally gave up around the last quarter and it cooled off lots. After all of us were thoroughly sweaty and some :cough:frank:cough: even had swamp ass... we enjoyed the ending to a winning Rutgers game. Now, Rutgers isn't known for winning much, so this was quite a shock to us. It was the first game of the season and we hit a record attendance that day which was really cool to be a part of. All of the freshmen were super psyched (as they don't know RU's horrible record) and everyone was wearing red and white. After the win, everyone rushed the field and it was a pretty cool site. I've NEVER seen that much Scarlet Knight spirit before. Because the busses were packed and the traffic was horrendous, we all decided to hike it back to the bar. We, of course, left this decision up to the gimp since he'd be schlepping his foot across campus. I felt bad for the guy b/c he was drenched when we hit the bar, but hey, it was his idea! Once at the bar, we all (9 of us) got 2 large pies and a round of $1 burgers and 10 pitchers. The guys that I had just met that night were pretty cool and funny so I had a good time. I was really tired, but I didn't mind it that much. The night crowd started to pour in, so we decided to end our night around 10:30pm.
Sunday: Breakfast with Sheetal at IHOP. It was pretty great talking to Sheetal again. I ate like a pig who was starved and I wasn't even that hungry. Go figure. So yeah, lots of talking and eating and it was just great! Then, I picked up Mike and we headed to my place b/c my sister was coming over with her hubby and my nephew!! Man, I just can't get enough of the little guy (my nephew)... he's just awesome. I actually got a picture of him with a big smile.. at 2 months old! Awwww, he's such a cutie. I'll try to post it tomorrow if I have my camera on me. He still hasn't grown much hair and his head is huge... and he's just adorable. LOL. I can't wait to see him again. We had lunch and dinner together and then they headed back home and I headed to Mike's.
Monday: Mike and I bummed around for most of the morning and then decided on a picnic for lunch. So, we picked up some sandwiches and headed to Brookdale Park to relax. It was so nice. For some reason, there were like 5 couples with infants around us picnic-ing. Must be the hot spot for them... hehe. It turned out to be a beautiful day! Then we went and ran bunches of errands and did some shopping and then went grocery shopping. Then ate at Johnny Carino's and called it a night.
And now it's back to work... ugh! At least it's a short week and I get to relax in Cape Cod this weekend (if it doesn't rain!). |
