I got my health insurance card this weekend.  Talk about quick!!!!  I’m only starting my 3^rd week here and I already have a card?!  I’m not used to this quick processing without having to nag!  Now I just have to make a ton of appointments with various doctors to get all checked up and use my insurance like a madwoman!

Oh, and about the bonus situation from my last job.  We got unofficial news that we’ll be getting it.  I’m not holding my breath, but I hope to God that it comes through.  And if it does, I’m finally opening an ING savings account to hold it in so I can use it for spring semester tuition.  My friend (from Maine) said it’s at 3.15% now!!!  Gotta have it.

Friday night Mike and I took his parents out for some Corean BBQ.  They absolutely loved it!His dad ate a whole lot of kimchi… hehe!  After the hostess greeting me in Corean, I answered with “four please”.  From there on, they talked in English and gave us a nice English-speaking unni.  AND, they gave us regular water.  Which shouldn’t be unusual… but all the Corean customers got bali (sp?) water, which my Mexican friend calls “dirty water.”  Ah well.  I guess they figure only Coreans like that kind of water… hmph!  Mike and his dad had some OB, even after I warned his dad that it was like light Coors Light.  We ate a whole lot of kalbi and were sufficiently stuffed when we left.  Yum, yum!

On Saturday I had lunch with a friend that was visiting from Maine.  It was so nice to spend time with an old friend.  And being that she’s in med school up in Maine, we don’t see each other very often at all.  We went to a diner in typical Jersey fashion b/c she just missed random REAL food.  Good times.  After dropping her off, I was headed home to start making dinner for the B's.  I made that stuffed shells with arrabiata sauce meal with a salad.  I love using my nice plates and wine glasses (read: not handed down)… lol.  It was really nice to have a weekend with Mike’s parents where they didn’t pay for dinner at all!  They always pick up the tab so this was our little way of returning the favor.

Sunday was spent buying stuff (read previous post).  After working on one chair, we headed to my mom’s place to BBQ some burgers.  Oh yeah, we also bought a 120-watt flood light for the bathroom vanity recessed light b/c it can handle a max of 150.  Holy shit is that thing bright!!!  Going from 60 to 120 was a HUGE difference.  Now it hurts my eyes in the morning!  And it’s kind of scary looking at my face in that light… heh!  But I like it b/c the bathroom was always so dark… now we just need a new light fixture for by the shower area.

Tonight I’ll be inhaling more paint-stripper fumes J. It’s cool watching the paint crumple up, but these chairs aren’t easy b/c they have detail that is a pain in the arse!!!
