Work, Dancing and Exercise...

The Senior VP is in town.  Know what that means?  We got free lunch!    Today it was Indian food…. Yum!  I also found out that the “happy hour” on Friday is being paid for by the company!  Holy crap, I love this place!

Last night was our (Mike and I) 3rd (out of 4) ballroom dancing lesson.  I think we’re actually getting the hang of it… in a tense and not so suave manner, though.  But we’re moving together and doing it!  We get a deal (save $10) on the intermediate classes for next month if we purchase it now.  So we’re both contemplating doing it with the same instructor so that we don’t lose what we’ve learned thus far.  Only thing keeping us from jumping on the deal is my schooling.  Damn learning is getting in the way all the freaking time!  I have classes Tuesday and Thursday nights (starting in 2 weeks!), so we could theoretically take the Wednesday night class.  BUT, Wednesday night is a popular meeting time for classmate-group members and such.  Grrrr.  I could just try and convince people to meet on Monday and Friday nights… but that’s not a definite right now.  What to do, what to do.  I REALLY want to take more lessons.  I see the advanced people gliding on the floor and I want to be them.  I think it’d be cool if Mike and I had this dancing thing as another hobby together (other being snowboarding).  I hope I can convince Mike by next Tuesday that it’ll all work out.

Next week I switch to my real work schedule of 9am-6pm.  I’m not thrilled about that, but it’s what I was hired for.  I’m also going to attempt the gym EVERY morning before work.  HEH!  When classes start, on Tues. and Thurs. I’ll be doing the 8am-5pm shift so those might be my days off from the gym… we’ll see.  My renewal for a year at Bally Total Fitness this year is only $84 so how could I not take it, right?  That’s $7 a month!  I’m actually really excited about getting fit again and I can hardly wait.  I’m tired of being this big (I’m not a cow, but I’m not happy) and I don’t have the strength to stick to a healthy diet.  And I know that when I’m working out on a regular basis, I have less of an urge to snack.  Wish me luck!

Oh yeah.... Happy Hump Day!
