| | Eck, Monday AGAIN!
Mike and I decided to venture out and go snowboarding on Saturday. I know what you're thinking, why the hell did you pick the coldest day to do that?! I don't know... maybe it wasn't a completely good idea, but it fit into our weekend plans. On the drive up there, it was about 1 degree outside and boyyyy was it cold! I went up on an intermediate lift and as I was unloading, I got caught on the inside of the lift and the chair pushed me down on the hard snow. I felt like I crushed my knees completely. So as I was struggling to get out of the way of the people getting off of the lift, I motion to Mike that I need help and he just tells me to ride down to him... grr! Then one of the lift operators comes by and helps me get my snowboard off and asks if I need ski patrol to help me down... but I toughed it up and said no... meanwhile tears are filling up my goggles. So, I was determined to get the heck down that mountain and go inside for a rest.. but first I had to get on my snowboard. I went down a little ways and then, BAM! Down on my knees again... I was sooooo pissed! I HATE packed snow, damnit. It's pretty funny when I look back on it, but at the time I had tears running but I had this pissed off look/mood about me. After about half-way down, I was doing a lot better and I finally made it. So I spent most of the rest of the time on the bunny slope (which was prolly worse b/c that was solid snow) while Mike headed to the black diamonds. The day started out poorly, but ended nicely. I was definitely spoiled by Canada and Vermont with their nice powder... boo for NJ snow! So then after that, we took a looooong nap to recouperate and then Mike brought over his laundry and we chilled at my place for a nice while.
Yesterday, we went to my sister's place so that I could help her with her computer. I put in some more memory for her so that she could actually run AOL 9.0 =) It felt so good to actually help someone with their computer! And then I emptied out some old game junk that my dad had left in there before handing it over to her. We had some dinner and then Mike and I headed back to his place. He got a new roomie to replace the one who's getting married and moving to CA. The new guy was moving in and left the door open and the two cats ran out... the other roomie (girl) was freakin out. So she went out and tracked them down after awhile. I was pretty impressed that she found them. Anyway, the dude said that he didn't know they weren't allowed outside... um, do cats normally go outside? Weird. But yeah, he's a fob and the house smells like curry from his furniture, but it's all good b/c I actually enjoy the smell.. hehe. It reminds me of my friends and the times I've spent at their curry-smellin homes... yum! I'm weird too, I know. So, hopefully this dude is nice and doesn't cause issues. Mike and I were talking about how he should maybe try to get a condo so that his money isn't being "thrown away" into rent. We'll see how that pans out.
So, I'm back at the Monday blues... yuck! How do people go through a lifetime of Mondays at the office.. grrr! I was trying to think of a job that I'd really really enjoy and I couldn't come up with anything... ah well! Tonight, I'm attempting the gym again... I'll let you know how it goes! Till then, ta ta! |
