I work for a HUGE IT company.  I mean huuuuuge.  And they claim to have a solution for EVERYTHING.

So now that my small company got acquired by said huge company, we're transferring over to a new system.  And it's a total f-ing mess.  And nothing is connected.  I swear I am working about 10 systems separately that all hit the same database.  And they all have different logon information.  And if I happen to close a window and I want to go back in... I have to log in again.  Yeah, tons of fun!

Kill me now.

And now they're talking about moving our office about 20 minutes down the road.  Which doesn't sound bad.... until I tell you that it'll add 20 minutes to my current 45 minute commute.  Fuck.

I swear I wouldn't mind any of this if I worked with a group of competent IT folks.  This new lady was telling me that she couldn't get her monitor to work.  And guess what.  The f-ing thing wasn't plugged in!  And it's not like it fell out of the socket... she seriously did not even have the cable hooked up... it was in the box.  I swear I thought that was just a joke when people told stories about people like this.  It's scary that this lady has a degree in CS.  And she's a level ABOVE me... and makes A LOT more money than I.

It's a cruel, cruel world.
