Mercy Minutes: Daily Gems from the Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalski

As some of you know, my middle son is attending John Paul the Great Catholic University. He studies entrepreneurial business and the New Media.
The student are taking part in the political landscape in California. They have taken on media support for Propositions 4 and 8.
Prop 4 is the family notification measure. A minor cannot be given an aspirin by the school nurse, without parental approval. But she can get an abortion. The measure was voted in by a significant margin earlier, but was overturned by the Cali Supreme Court. This initiative brings it back.
Prop 8 calls for a change to the California constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
Last week, the LA Times interviewed Steve about their support for Prop 8.
On Friday, San Diego's TV channel 6 also interviewed Steve and another student, Tim, about their videos and the impact they might have on voters.
All are impressed with how Steve handled himself during the interviews.
It is a big boost for the school as well. Both interviewers made a point to name the school. The San Diego TV station was not aware that JP Catholic existed. They indicated that the school would indeed get more calls for interviews after their piece aired on Friday night. I am sure that not all interviewers will be friendly, but as P T Barnum said, publicity is publicity. hehe
Anyway, we keep those students in our prayers. They are now on the front lines of a battle which we all know is not a battle of flesh and blood.

Yesterday, I pulled up Natural News to a wonderful surprise: There was one of my articles -- as their headline article!!! Of course it was short lived. Today a number of articles are above it. You can read it here.
Today, however, Natural News ran two more articles I wrote. One is about the health advantages of letting kids get dirty
. The other is about apple juice.

Stay With Me, Lord
Padre Pio's Prayer After Holy Communion
Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You. You know how easily I abandon You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need Your strength, that I may not fall so often.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life and without You I am without fervor.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light and without You I am in darkness.
Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You.
Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You very much and always be in Your company.
Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.
Stay with me, Lord, as poor as my soul is I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of Love.
Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close and life passes, death, judgment and eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You. It is getting late and death approaches, I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile!
Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dangers, I need You.
Let me recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.
Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You, if not by Communion, at least by grace and love.
Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for, Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit, because I love You and ask no other reward but to love You more and more.
With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to love You perfectly during all eternity. Amen.
