I find myself....

...looking back at what I miss... not that I don't have a great life now. But I look back at friends of past and how things are different. Great friends have either just had a baby or recently had one. They are in different parts of the country. Off and you really don't have much connection with them anymore. Seemingly things are different than they used to be. I miss that. I miss the connection that was made and the carefree feeling that came with it.

So ode to my friends out there... I miss you ...

Happy...

I finished school... I passed my state board exam with flying colors!! I am officially a licensed esthetician in the state of Florida! I am headed over this afternoon to give a facial to the owner of a resort spa. This is my final step to getting the job. I am excited about how God has opened up doors for me. Now that it is spring break and summer crowds coming soon, I shall be fairly busy.

As to something else, my husband added that voice clip that runs when you open up my blog and it runs to every other place you open in my blog. Has this been causing any of your internet explorer to close down? I have had it done to mine several times... I am trying to figure out how to remove it and I can't find where to take it off... Can someone help me on this? Thanks.

2 Weeks Left to Go!!

The end is at sight... I never thought about how long and quick 4 months could go. It has gone by so fast looking back but yet going through it has seemed like a long haul. I am tired but enjoying the new and fascinating things I am learning. I have a highly-possible opportunity to work for a spa as an esthetician very soon after I graduate. It will be an evening job but as spring break and summer rapidly approach, it could be a great "extra cash" position. Yet I will be looking into future advancement and training as like all other things, it will rapidly change with new and improved products, machines and techniques that if you don't keep up with it now, "my dear you will be left behind." I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am headed there fast, but as soon as I hit the other side, I am nervous. Why? The state board exam, of course. I am scheduled to take it on the 13th of March. Therefore, for those who read my blog or happen to stumble across it, please pray for me that day! Thanks.

Stolen from Veronica

A Year in Review, of sorts...

 1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before? Bought a house! Became scuba diver certified. Learned to drive a motorcycle.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I didn't make any so I guess I kept them. No, I will probably not make some this year and therefore keep on keeping the resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My sister-in-law Holly did (Nathaniel Douglas).

4. Did anyone close to you die? No.

5. What countries did you visit? None this year.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007? My Esthetician's license.

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Nothing sticks out right now.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Starting school again... and scuba diving.

9. What was your biggest failure? I don't think in terms of failure... failure is a sign of weakness

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Nope I was healthy

11. What was the best thing you bought? House and rugs for our house

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Moto starting to settled down .... some.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Umm have you been watching me?

14. Where did most of your money go? Mortgage.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Buying our first home.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007? Bad Day by Daniel Powter. I didn't like this song but it was overplayed to the point that 2007 made me think of this song.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: happier or sadder? Happier, because I am too busy to be sad.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Scuba diving, gone to hockey games

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Spending money.

20. How will you be spending Christmas? Spent it with family.

21. How will you be spending New Years? Spent it with my brother and his family.... was supposed to go to NYC for the ball drop but Trey got sick

24. What was your favorite TV program? Hockey games, CSI, Project Runway, Top Chef, Dexter.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I don't hate anyone.

26. What was the best book you read? I cannot recall the name at this time.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? How much I hate Jimmy Buffet.... wait this answers #25.

28. What did you want and got? A house.

30. What was your favorite film of this year? Fun With Dick and Jane

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I worked and then came home. Nothing special. A woman never tells her age, duh!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Hmmm... European vacation or maybe just been able to see more friends.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007? Making scrubs look sexy

34. What kept you sane? Trey.... when he didn't make me insane.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? George Bush, for keeping his ground.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? Don't get me started... the fact that Hillary Clinton is trying for presidency and people will vote for her... makes me sick. She should put the dishes back if she gets put back there.

37. Who did you miss?
Family and friends from years past

38. Who was the best new person you met? Evelyn...she is in my class and she has been a life saver to have someone I got along with.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:  Be positive, it shows in your face and in your attitude towards life.

Halfway and Holiday

Well I am half way through my schooling on being esthetician and have a three week break! I am however looking into another school after this one to become licensed in Alabama. The schooling I am in right now gives me a license in Florida. So it seems to be from one to another. Trey is also seriously pursuing college and finishing his bachelor's degree! Ahh the joys of school..Fa la la la la la.
Speaking of Christmas, we are headed to NJ for the holidays. We are excited about that. Planning on heading to Times Square for the New Years Ball Drop . Shall write on the details of that....
