I have ridden my bike three times in the last three workdays, although only one way so far. On Friday, Mike picked me up. He took me (and my bike) shopping. First stop was to Gottschalks (the only non-boutique clothing store in town) for capris that fit (my butt anyway). I spent an hour in my closet that morning, trying on clothes trying to figure out what to wear on my bike. I hate the new style--lower rise waist. The last thing I want when I ride my bike is for my crack to be showing; well, my granny underwear, to be honest. It doesn't help that I swim in the waist anyway. Since I lost four pounds in four days it shouldn't be too long before I can wear smaller clothes--probably still proportionally wrong, but I'll feel so good about my body I won't care! I can tell, it's a matter of weeks. Then we went to Nugget for seafood and chicken to grill for salads. Cale passed on the seafood and gave his two prawns and scallops away. He still can't shake the feeling that it was the seafood that made him sick last week. He lost 15 pounds and very upset about it.
On Monday, I rode into work again and had Cale pick me up, leaving my bike in my office. We picked up Mexican food and brought it home. Cale took me to work Tuesday morning on his way to Oregon. He packed my truck (and trailer) with things I had promised to deliver to my sister, Dee, and will be bringing back my new bed. I rode home after work, around 6:10, got home at 6:40, just in time to get in Cale's car and take Zane to trumpet. He realized when we arrived that he brought his backpack, not his trumpet, but fortunately, the teacher has a spare trumpet for just this reason. I went off to the adult school to fill in my timecards for last quarter--I never got paid and finally learned why--I never filled out the timesheets! I headed to the pet store for bird seed and treats, and walked across the shopping center in perfect timing to meet Todd, who had picked up Zane, at the Mexican restaurant. Seis de Mayo! Afterward, we made one more stop in the shopping center per Zane's request: Game Stop. It seems Zane needs some games that don't have an M for Mature rating, since last weekend we took all his M games away until he demonstrates more maturity and respect toward us. We ended up selecting an arcade game package that we can all play, and two wireless guitars so we can play RockBand. The family that plays together...doesn't kill each other!
Tomorrow I plan to ride both to work and home, although I will be going in late, waiting at home for a delivery. I need to be at work by 11 so I hope it comes first thing. It's been taking me 35 minutes to ride to work, but tonight it only took 30 min to get home. It's always quicker to get home! It should take about 20. My legs are so sore. I took a tylenol PM and I hope it kicks in soon.
My dentist called me today to chastise me for not making that appointment to get my tooth extracted. She warned me that antibiotics might not help the next flare up. I made an appointment for Friday the 13th of June. I can hardly wait.
This is turning out to be a busy week. We need to schedule our interview with the coordinator of a foreign exchange program. Zane signed us up and it sounds interesting. A French child, Zane's age, will come in July and stay with us for three weeks. There will be field trips once/twice a week, that Zane can attend as well. Perfect, since he's at that age too old for summer camps any more, but too young to work, and too [the wrong age] to stay home unsupervised for an entire summer! I have a church meeting Thursday, and I need to start booking tickets for my summer trips: Illinois, NC, and Portland. We've reserved a week and a half at the cabin for our own vacation, and Todd is reading to me all the summer activities offered in our new association. He signed us up for a tennis tournament Memorial Day weekend. I feel like summer has already started. It's going to be a fun one!!!

Then, dentist on a Friday the thirteeth, good that you don't wreck a different day, too ...home delivery piqued my interest. You're too busy! I'm going to go take a rest for you, ofcourse~ hugs to everybody.
you sure do lead a busy life
You are always so busy. But this week, it sounds like you sure are having fun!
Gosh, I feel exhausted just reading about all that!
Losing extra weight is always a good thing
I always feel so much better and more energetic etc when I'm working out regularly! I've lost more weight than I really want to, but I love the way I feel so I'm letting it go for the moment. I'm sure I'll put some back on in the fall lol.
4 pounds in 4 days! I need a bike! ha ha ha! Good going!
You all are so busy you make my head spin!
Oh Portland... I am terribly jealous. I'm in the process of rebuilding a vintage roadbike & a cruiser. By in the process I mean I have my cruiser frame and I have yet to find a roadbike frame... haha.
I was thinking I need to start walking to work. It's probably 1/2 mile...that would require a different set of shoes and carrying stuff...not sure yet if I'll undertake that or not...Good for you riding to work, even if it's one way...it all counts.
I didn't realize you were renting out the cabin allllllll the time...you're only keeping it 1 1/2 weeks for yourself??? Wow...I know how long you've (Todd) waited to get this and then not to hog it to yourself...I feel a little sad about that fact...marilyn
@maggie70 - I should clarify--we haven't yet "rented" it but we sure need to soon with all the money we're spending on it and toys to go with it. But we have given out weeks to family as gifts this summer--but we blocked out that one week or so for our vacation this year!
Hey~ go to the dentist! Dang, you always put off for tomorrow what you can do today for yourself!!!!! Take care of yourself! I love love love riding my bike to and from work. I still drive to clean but I always ride to the gallery. It is my favorite part of the day. Except for the flat tires. Dang. Happy Hump Day and thanks for the BEER!!!
