    Eating in Winter
    Eating in Winter"

    Snow and fun
It would seem that I was mistaken about this week.  Not counting today, it has snowed with accumulation on 3 out of 4 days!  Such a nice change of pace.  If it's going to be winter, it should at least snow.  Now if only the 2-6 foot snow accumulation would hit.  The photo of the horse was taken at the same farm I've visited a couple times lately.

Today is Friday, which means the final day of a busy week (hence the lack of post yesterday).  I'd say it's the end of a busy week, but today's a busy one too.  As much as I'd love to get out and do some more shooting, I suppose I should be responsible, huh?  It's the weekend that's for goofing off! What do you like to do on the weekends?

Don't forget to eat your breakfast
I'm behind in my Bible study.  I hate it when that happens.  I hear that alot from others as well.  But then what's done about it?  Do we notice the results of not taking that study time?  It's not just something missed in the day.  How can you have a mind focused on Christ when you don't focus on Him during the day?  It'd be like missing meals each day.  It takes it's toll on your body. Perhaps not immediately.  You can miss a meal or two before you really notice.  But not for long.  Before long, you do more than notice.  You can't even continue the same pace and activities if you keep missing.  So it is with study.  Without taking time for learning and understanding, you can never be as effective.

You are absolutely right about the bible study thing.  I have been "behind" for a few months now and I really start to notice.  Even after just a couple of weeks it is noticeable.    The ups and downs of life....

Weekends...since I work at home, sometimes I don't notice the difference between a weekday and weekend. Yesterday was Thursday and I took time off to go to the beach for a photo shoot...that was like a weekend I guess. It's kinda nice to have a weekend in the middle of the week cuz there's not a lot of people around.

Great picture and great advice.  The day just goes way better when I start it with Him and His Word.  It seems like He even gives me more hours in the day by making the day go more efficiently.

Bible study.... I'm ready to be out of the Old Testatment and back into the Good News.  I need to get me another study Bible...grumble ....grumble...

I would like a little snow this weekend.  I mean at 25 degrees this morning...we should at least get to enjoy a little winter precipitation along with the cold.  But that's what I get for living in Atlanta.

    Hi Jason,
First I want to say how much I enjoyed your snow pictures from this week...your son is adorable. You are blessed to have this time with him, as he is to have his father so close.
The older I get, the more vital I find my daily quiet time with the Lord. He has to take priority over everthing else in my day. That means, once I've made some hot tea, and let the dog out I sit down with my bible and journal and spend at least 20 minutes with my Father. (if I'm still, and listening 45 minutes speeds by)
When Brianna was an infant it was almost impossible, but as a toddler, she got used to being given a bottle or her breakfast and seeing mommy sit at the table with her bible open, even if just for 10 minutes.
Now days it means putting God 1st before turning on the computer, or answering the phone, etc. The benefits: peace, joy, strenght, wisdom....maturity... and the miracle of seeing answered prayer

Thanks for the feedback. I don't get very much, so when I do it means a lot.
I'm behind on my regular Bible study too because we're in 1 & 2 Kings. I much prefer the "Good News" as gandy put it. I have recently been getting a lot of quality worship time through some academic books I've been reading. (One was recommended by SpiritualStarScaper--I'm sure Jen can tell you who that is if you don't already know.)
My pastor proposed last year that you not eat till you've read your Bible. It was exactly the point you're making: you wouldn't go without eating for a week, so why aren't you feeding yourself the Spiritual food that is so much more important?

Your pictures are so clear, I feel calm when I look at them. . .a treat to my eyes.

I like to meet people on weekends...and I also love the snow that is stuck on the horse's nose!

Man, let me tell you, I've been out of the word and it's shown! It's shown in my attitude, the way I see things, it changes everything!

I went thru a "dry season" and actually started blogging at a political forum which totally took my eyes, mind and heart off the Lord.

Thankfully we have a God who is faithful to reel us in, amen?

    * As for your question, I like to relax on the weekends OR clean, depending on my mood. When I was younger, I like to travel, but now I'd rather stay closer to home.

    God Bless

I like to do basically nothing all weekend, stuff like sitting wondering for two hours (not all at one time) about what I should do, and pouring out the contents of my brain and sorting through a weeks worth of junk and then shoving the important stuff back in there like the fact that we have a history quiz sometime next week and that I need to get the student council e-mail list all worked out. Then I like to sit and listen to music while working on Greek or math. Somtimes when I feel especially productive I get this wave of what some people would liken to nausea- the cleaning bug. I put on music and clean my room, even if it only is a little pick up. (yes I'm quite a strong one I can pick up my whole room.)

So yeah, that's basically my weekends all smooshed together into one rather long comment. I don't know if you remember but you commented the thing in the ( ) [I can't spell their name] a long time ago when I said I was going to pick up my room. ANYhoo, I do believe this is a very long comment and now I think I am going to stop.

    STOP

    I spelled braking wrong didn't I?

glad to know that you're back in business. for a minute, all of my favorite subscriptions started to "quit". i thought i did something wrong. :P

its definitely hard to get back on track if you get off for a while. at least you notice.
i try to keep up with my quiet times (in the midst of a hectic schedule), yet i fall away so easily when i feel "too busy". and of course, it falls out of my 'routine' - if i should call it that.
