  • More Snow and an Every Believer Series

    Death of a Snowman
    Death of a Snowman

    Another day, another snow
Awoke to the sound of trucks scraping snow off of the road this morning.  Yup, it snowed again last night.  Despite the days of morning snowfall, there is actually less on the ground than we first started with when above snowman was born.  The snowfall has been light (although it's big, fluffy flakes, which I love) and the daytime has been melting it away.  I'm still awaiting the 2-3 foot accumulation.  Meanwhile a busy day today, and I'm already behind!  *sigh* It's almost noon.  Since I've already finished the rest of the post, I'm going to cut this section short.  What time would you wake up if you could choose without regard for work or commitments?

What if every believer... Part 1
What if every believer in Christ tithed to the church they attended (which of course meant every believer attended)?  Imagine a church where the body of believers enabled itself to do the things it was charged with.  A church that didn't expect a government to feed those in need or help those who are suffering, but took it fully upon itself to meet those needs and relieve that suffering.  The church does indeed try to do those things (ever wonder how many of those Red Cross meals in New York and St Louis were provided by churches??), but when a portion of the body fights against itself... everyone suffers.  We stubbornly cling to our money as if God did not already own everything, all while He asks us to prove ourselves faithful and see what He does with our faithfulness.  How much more could the body of believers accomplish if it's dead parts were to show life in Christ, no longer weighing the body down?

PS. I had an idea for you. You could do something on youtube where you like, shave your beard, then take a picture every day until it grows back and then make a picture thing to show how it grows everyday, ahhaaha.

    i'm a smart one, i am!

I would get up between 9-12, depending on how late I stayed up the night before. But if I knew I could sleep in as late as I wanted I would probably stay up later at night, so I'd probably sleep from 3a-12p or so...

Gosh, at this stage in my life, I'm blessed to get up when I want to...about 7:45am I'd like to get up earlier, but I've been reading almost till midnight lately

As for tithing...being self employed, cash has always been tight, but I found peace in tithing my time and energy. Now things have changed and my husband is able to give our church stocks that they sell, and there is no tax. I was delighted and amazed when we were able to bless an African mission with $17,000 this year.

God has a sense of humor!  Our church elders and leaders just issued a tithing challenge.  If you tithe for the next 3 months and don't find blessing and trust in God's provisions, then the church will refund your money 100%, no questions asked.  Let's see how the people respond to that!

I would wake up at 9:00 Am if I could ever sleep in that late.

if everyone tithed the church would be able to pay off their enormous buildings but then they would think of something else to build. My semi cynical 2 cents. Got your message that you've returned to blogging. And so have I, we'll see how long it lasts eh?

I think I would get up around 930...go back to bed around 1230...sleep til 330...lay around til 930 and return to bed....kinda like I did on Saturday!!!

I would love to be a morning person and wake up without an alarm clock, feeling completely refreshed, at sunrise. This has never happened to me before. I can get myself on a schedule and do it, but it's a work, not something effortless. But I love to watch the new day dawning. I feel so connected to God at that point.

I love snow. I just wish it would snow in Georgia.
What time would you wake up if you could choose without regard for work or commitments? Well, because I've been doing it for the past 8 years, I've been waking up at 5:30 am no matter how late I want to wake up. But without commitments ... 7:00 am. That would be heaven.

And talk about conviction from the second paragraph. I'll remember that on Sunday.
