Face of (less-than) InnocenceWear clean underwear!
I make sure to always wear clean underwear, yes. But Sunday I forgot a more important rule: always take your camera with you. So a harrier landed in a tree not 20 feet from me just to taunt me. Then later three police cruisers and an ambulance screamed past as if to say, "Go on, you have no reason to follow." Top that with a beautiful sunset. *sigh* So ... OSU's final game came clearly to mind as I watched the Bears score a historical touchdown. As it turned out, the game turned out much the same! I spent much of the game half-watching, half catching up with some online stuff since I've not managed to spend any length of time on the computer for several days. Today I hope to spend some time in the freezing outdoors with my good friend, Canon. Blue skies on a crisp day. Would you rather have cold and clear or warm and raining?
What if every believer... Part 4
What if every believer realized that it isn't about the amount of money they give or the amount of time they commit, but about ownership? What if every believer realized that we are not our own, but are owned by the one we believe in? Not just believers, but every one and every thing is owned. We get so preoccupied with our rights, that we forget that we belong to Him. We don't have inherent rights; we are granted rights. We don't have money that we may or may not give Him a percentage of; He has it all, entrusting us. We don't have all the time in the world; He created time and the world, again entrusting us. This series hasn't been about our actions, it's about realizing ownership. What a sight! The body of believers in Christ taking up the responsibility that come's with being His own, effecting the world as He did.

Well at least you got my attention with the title. I carried my camera on Saturday for a family event....intending to get pictures. I didn't drive (we were late anyway) so didn't even notice anything that was a "must stop" place. The family was too crowded around people that weren't family, so no opportunity for family shots. Coming home, we got stuck in traffic with no view but brake lights. (Is it dangerous to leave a Canon Rebel in the car in freezing weather?)
That Cole, what a funny little guy!! Keep him away from acting. Hmmm....in Winter I would prefer warm and raining, in the Summer cold and clear. I rarely see cold and clear in Summer, but warm and raining happens a couple times a winter.
I'm struggling with the ownership thing Jason. I just don't know what I'm supposed to do anymore. When I think I'm on the right track the track ends, and I go nowhere. So right now I'm just sitting at a dead end, and my be I'll just go on sitting here. I don't know I'm just tired.

Warm.
You almost lost me. I thought you were going to be TOO DEEP today...but, somehow I had my life preserver on and survived! You know I am right there with you now, pretty much, but not all of the time. I think that that is true with a lot of the concepts that we learn in Christianity. Some of them are on the front burners and some slide to the back. Thankfully to Christian friendships, services, readings, etc we keep them circulating and anew. They are all SO important.
I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but this thought inparticular, keeps my sanity when it comes to dangers that face my 3 year old daughter in her life. I'm talking REAL dangers...kidnapping, terrrorism, abuse, etc. I know that she is God's and he has a plan for her. I do my absolute best, but He is in control and she will be ok. MANY people think I am crazy.
By the way, one of your thoughts from last week was a topic of discussion in Sunday School...about people servicing as much as they should. We had a nice talk about how everyone is called in different ways, some are seen and some are unseen. Time, Talent, and Treasure.
We've had too many cold and clear days this winter...everything is so dry I'm praying for a warm cloud cover and rain.
There are days when I make a consious effort not to bring the camera so I will enjoy the moment and the people I'm with ...but it's hard!
Cold and clear.
Regarding your "what if," paragraph:
If that were so, many ppl wouldn't be easily manipulated by crooked pastors and churches to give their money to a store house that doesn't exist.
"Many store houses," are actually the pastors and church staff's bank accounts. - I know that sounds horrible, but sometimes the truth is ugly.
I also suppose if we were not attached to our money, it wouldn't really matter if we knew we were not giving to God but actually to the pastor's family and their next ski trip or perhaps their next new car or what have you. I suppose if we didn't have money 'hang ups' it would't matter at all.
AHHHH??? who's the cute little kid???
He is adorable...
