  • Man Movies, a Prayer Priority, and Photo

    Men will be men
You know you are overly photo-minded when you start taking pictures of your crying son rather than comforting him!  Actually, he was crying because he wasn't getting his way, so I'm not a bad dad.  In other non-news, the movie 300 comes out today.  I normally think nothing of new movies, but this is one that has just pulled in my attention.  I love seeing new styles and creative work when they are well done, and this seems to be a jewel (how corny does that sound).  True, it's rather violent and not exactly historically accurate, but then it doesn't claim to be.  Rather than match history in detail, it tries to convey the feeling of the time.  When movies such as DaVinci Code pretend to be realistic and utterly bad history, it sickens me.  When movies drop realism and take take liberties with facts, I can be entertained.  Truthfully though, it just looks like a sweet guy movie!  What interests you in a movie?

    Ephesians 6:18
I neglected prayer last night and it showed.  Last night was Bible study for a group of us, yet no one seemed to really be there.  Present yes (for the most part), but not really there.  I can't say if anyone else actually neglected prayer, but I can speak for myself.  I didn't go in with a mindset on God.  It's a bit of a problem with too many Bible studies really.  Believers going in to supposedly hear from God through His Word, but don't even really begin with a "hello."  Yes, there's prayer at the beginning (I would hope!), but I mean serious, personal time of praying before hand.  By serious, I don't mean face-in-the-dirt posturing; I mean going to God humbly and asking for the opportunity to learn of Him and glorify Him as people gather to hear and discuss His Word.  We neglect prayer too often.
