Day of Cleaning, Day of Restless, Penguin/Fish Photos

A day of stuff
Nothing like a warm spring Saturday to relax and enjoy the day. Too bad that this isn't a warm spring Saturday for relaxing and enjoying! It's cold and it's cleaning day, but there's nothing interesting in blogging about that... The photos are from the Newport Aquarium trip, as I posted of yesterday. The first shot of the lion fish is one of my favorites of the day, as it seemed to be posing for me. The lighting was perfect. The penguins may not have been the easiest to capture on film sensor, but their playful swimming made for several wonderful shots. Now I must get back to some video editing for church tomorrow, so I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend! Do you think that showing clips of Passion in Easter services is overdone or too much?
The Most Restless Day
"But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment." (Luke 23:56) How do you make it through the most difficult day in history? Adam and Eve were thrown out of Eden, but they still knew God. The flood wiped out all but Noah's family, but they still knew God. What do you do when your whole understanding of God and His work dies before your very eyes. Not only that, but you watch as He is buried. What about the day after? "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy" (Exodus 20:8). They did. They knew they were called to honor God in all things and at all times. So they did, though their hearts must have been so very heavy. Their minds must have been so confused. Their faith so tormented. We not only know what Jesus said of the next day, we know of what all followed. We don't have to know that feeling of lost. We don't have to know that day of confusion and fear. We have all been given the opportunity to know the grace and mercy of not only the cross, but of the resurrection too.

Wow. Hadn't really thought about the day after.
LOVE the shots-especially the penguins!!
I agree with this_is_important on the Passion question.
Luv the Penguins, so sleek, like torpedos
and a testimony that it is God who keeps us - there is no way they had that in themselves
I would wonder about the impact on young children or even any very sensitive person as far as showing clips of that movie
maybe it would work best if it were part of Good Friday or Maundy Thursday service that has stations to go around to and people could opt out of the very graphic video if they wanted?
Re: the question ... Hmmm ... I actually haven't seen it myself. I guess it goes back to something my dad said about it, "I read the book, and it was far better."
Once again your aquarium photos are fantastic... If you want a challenge try photographing leafy sea dragons!
ryc: First of all, my home country is Canada (White Rock, BC) not Australia which is my current country of residence. My real travels began about 4 years ago when I took Amtrak from Seattle to Boston, then from Boston to Raleigh, NC to visit a couple of friends. When I completed all of my university education I spent 2 months travelling through Spain, France and Italy (5 weeks of that 2 months was spent in Italy). When I returned home I realised that I wanted to do some more travelling so I thought I would teach in the UK to fund those travels (I ended up in England for a short stint then spent 6 months in Scotland). My previous travels do not ever make an appearance because prior to living in England and Scotland all of my photos were taken on film and they are still waiting to join me in Australia.I like the rockfish, so clear a pic. I haven't seen the passion and guess I don't see a real need to. Maybe I am missing something but there was so much hype I tend to resist things when there is that much surrounding them. Have a great rest of the weekend.

I love to watch lion fish swim. They look so graceful and kind of swirly. Great shot of the swimming penquins! Most people get them standing up. I've never been in a service where they have clips of the Passion. One commenter thought it would be good to have clips of the Passion on Friday and I think so too I guess.
Thanks for coming by. I just kept taking pics of the bluebird and a few turned out. They come to that suet bar constantly. They're about the size of a Robin. Have a wonderful Easter with you family.
