  • Last Day, Reader Day, Sleepy Photo

    Resurrection Day +40

Over the course of forty days, Jesus had appeared to many people.  Dr Luke would later write that Jesus gave many convincing proofs that He was alive (Acts 1:3).  Jesus had been giving every opportunity for everyone to see for themselves and believe, both in His life and in His resurrection.  Even while they gathered on the mountain as Jesus had instructed... even while some of them stood there among the others that were worshipping Jesus who stood there before them, some doubted (Matthew 28:17).  There were many who simply close their hearts to Him.  Even as Jesus stood before them, they refused.  It must have been incomprehensible to the believers!   It is not our job to convince people.  If some wouldn't believe as they stood before Jesus, there will be some that won't believe when the Spirit gives them opportunity.  Our job is to go, make disciples, baptizing and teaching.  The job of salvation is His.

    Reader Feedback Day
Ah, a slow start to a mucky rainy day.  A trip to the local Air Force is obviously in order!  So while the only thing I have to show today is a worn out preschooler (must be from all the publicity in the last couple posts), I'll perhaps have some USAF shots tomorrow (I'll try not to keep it all too guyish).  Today I have something I'd like to ask of all readers.  Many of you actually beat me to it with responses to yesterdays format.  Today is your opportunity to gripe and complain about my Xanga.  Well... perhaps not a public verbal beating, but I would like some feedback on what you think could be changed or bettered here.  Or if you have a lack of opinion on that, perhaps what you like best.

I do like the devo first...my fave part is your pics of course...especially of our little guy...they always help me through the day when I am at school. I still think that you need to take your devos and make a devo book...one of those that have short devos for each day...what a great ministry as well as income that could be...

*points up to the book idea* That's a very good idea. And I don't have any comments to add about your Xanga since I already said yesterday that I like the flipped format better. =) I do have to say, though, that so many times we forget a very salient point that you mentioned: the job of salvation is not ours, it's His. We need to remember that more when we get frustrated that someone doesn't fall on their knees and accept Christ after we quote a few verses. It's God's time, not ours, and sometimes we're meant to plant the seed, not harvest the crop.

Good point on salvation...my youngest sister refuses to believe in Christ...it breaks my heart when I see the bitterness in her life.

As for xanga, I like it just fine...I don't understand why they keep adding features I never use

*points up to the harvest idea* I second that notion. Luke 10:2 "He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

    Let's go harvesting!

oh yeah- no opinion on the site, looks good to me buddy! I really did enjoy the picture story though, I love stuff like that! Back in high school my friends and I would turn the sound off on the TV and make our own words up. Very fun.

first paragraph is a great thought.  I saw elsewhere the idea put forth that we have to remember that we are the messengers and  not the message.  The Holy Spirit will do the work of conversion of the heart.  Love the pic!     ryc on entense, yes I am a veggie.          I think that makes two things you learned about me in the last week or so.    To me learning something about someone makes xanga more interesting.

I think the site is great. Don't change a thing.

I'm with Mary on this...(not concerning your site) but xanga keeps adding stuff and people make their sites so full of junk that I have to stop visiting...it just takes too long to load the pages. I go directly to the comment page from my sub page now...that way I skip a lot of the stuff people put on their front page. You had a photo module that made it almost impossible for me to load your site. I don't know if it's still there, cuz like I said I come straight here now.

What I like is the post and comment boxes...it makes it easy to read your post, but you can still see through to the pic in the background. How do you make that happen?

I LOVE the picture...I can relate to it at this very moment...would love very much to take a nap.
