  • Sunshine on My Shoulder Makes Me Happy
And God said, "... let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." (Genesis 1:20)
There are some days that just strike you as beautiful days from the start.  When you can see red budding leaves from your window, through which the sun shines from a clear blue sky.  Birds can be heard singing and chattering, playing in the warmth of a spring day.  You know without even looking that the grass is green.  Those days make it easy to remember that it is a wonderful creation of God's.  Those days make it easy to remember that we also were all placed here by God.  No matter what is happening around you on those days... no matter what the tv, radio or webcast tells you is wrong in those days, think only of the blessings God has given.  Take time to celebrate and give praise to God. And if it's another kind of day... give Him the praise for it.  Even more so.

    "Where'd I Go?"
While everything described in my last paragraph is true of my morning, there was one little matter I left out.  One little man, actually.  A little guy playing hide-and-seek while I was trying to enjoy the comfort of my bed.  I don't think he quite understands the game yet though, as he would hide on my legs under the blankets... I don't really have a point to this today.  Some days are just meant to be enjoyed.  This morning has been one of those times for me.  All that was missing was a nice breakfast of eggs, biscuits with gravy, bacon, and all that other cholesterol filled stuff that I enjoy.  FYI - for those that deduced the kitty yesterday, I think you were right.  Now for the age-old question... Which makes a better pet: a cat or a dog?

...Whereas MY day has completely sucked so far.
Can you send the little one down here to make me laugh?

A dog is the better pet. Definately. A cat cops an attitude, and dogs are amazing.

I think it depends on the person really. First you have to decide whether you even like dogs or cats. Most dog people don't like cats and most cat people don't like dogs. After you get past that step and decide you like each mostly equally you have to decide which lifestyle suits you. If you're always on-the-go, running running running and don't have much time to be home and let the animal out, a dog is probably not for you. However if you live out in the country and have a doggy door you may be able to let your dog roam freely. Another thing to keep in mind is your anxiety level. If being around something that's sort of rambunctious then a cat is probably the better choice. A cat. Not a few, because they get rambunctious as well and like to stay up at night when people are sleeping. If you are an active person who has quite a bit of freedom to be at home often then you may get a dog to suit your fitness needs [I hear dogs make excellent running partners!] And finally if you're allergic to dander then you might not be able to get either.

In summary, I am a cat person. I wouldn't be opposed to getting a dog though because I love to run and I'd like my wife to have a running partner when I'm not able to run with her.

Nobody really has a pet cat. Cats have pet humans.

In my oppinion, a small little dog is the best . Small, only because little dogs have little droppings that can be picked up and put in a baggy on those days you go for walks in the park. BIG dogs, on the other hand, need a shovel and grocery sack to be taken with you for those  little walks. J

Cats are waayyyy better than dogs...they don't need to go outside to pee and they don't need walked.  and they don't need baths either.

    cats > dogs.

    DOGS...!!!!

humans have dogs. cats have humans. and if cats were bigger, they would eat us.

I've had both and now I have neither.  I enjoyed both.  Dogs need bathing a lot.  Cats shed a lot and need litter boxes.  But both make good company.  It is just way easier not having to deal with any of that ~ not needing to find someone to care for them when we are away ~ no vet bills ~ and most of all, not having to deal with parting with them when they get old.  That was the hardest part of all.

I'm glad you're enjoying your day! Yesterday was definitely one of those days for me.

Which makes a better pet: a cat or a dog? Honestly, I know everyone has a preference, but I've never been able to decide! I grew up with dogs and cats, and I've always loved both.

I too enjoy little dogs however I have two qualms with them: 1) most breeds bark too much, and 2) they are typically very skittish/erratic in their behaviors, probably due to an over-abundance of energy.

See-I love cats and dogs. It kinda depends on your mood-cats are fun to watch, but definitely have their own agenda. When you are in need of understanding love, go with the dog.

I'm a dog person, cats have this uncanny way of detecting that I don't like them so they hate me. I don't think that I would hate cats if they liked me. Actually, there is one cat that I really like and its my neighbors, her name is Boney and she just LOVES people and always wants to be petted and picked up and all that. I don't mind cats like that, but most aren't like her.

That quote my sister said is something my dad uses, and it is soooo true. That's why we don't go near the lions and tigers....

It's gotten better. One of those days, I guess. I hit a full-on manic state earlier woo. It's fading now, or maybe I'm just containing it better. But at least I'm not cussing up a storm like I was.

Our IT department is renowned for their lack of knowledge. Who was that senator that called the internet a series of tubes? They probably voted for him and didn't understand why people were enraged and amused by his comments.

Darn I can't steal your boy. But that's ok. His hiding sounds hilarious; I hope you enjoy him today and every day.

I really love both dogs & cats. keep in mind, dogs want you because they need you , cats only need you if they want you . I also have tortoise and parrots. They put whole new meaning into which pet is the best.

Definitely dogs. Although if my cats had been toilet trained rather than litter box trained, I wouldn't have had the issue of detesting the litter box, which is why I am now down to just one baby moose masquerading as an 80-pound lab puppy. I don't know why I prefer pooper scooper duty in the yard, but I do.

I'm not a fan of any of them. lol
