  • Incomprehensible, Simple Rant, and Flag Photos

    State of Ohio Flag

"God is bigger than the boogie-man"
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1).  Perhaps what has become one of the greatest tragedies in this day is our certainty in our own abilities.  We indeed have great potential and are even able to accomplish anything... with Christ.  But the certainties of many refuse to consider God.  Why?  I can't answer all that in one paragraph!  But one point is because of our inability to comprehend all that is God.  John opens his book with a conundrum: Jesus was the Word of God that was with God, but was also God, all since before creation.  We can possibily reach a point where we may accept that, but to truly comprehend that is beyond us.  So too many settle for "I don't see or understand, therefore I dismiss it."  It's strange, since there should be a comfort in God being greater than our comprehension.  If our own minds could take in all that is God, He would be a very little God indeed.

    Fueling a rant
I'm tired of gas prices shooting up.  I'm also tired of people complaining about "getting robbed," as one individual griped on the local news last night.  It's not that I don't think prices are outrageous as much as that I remember just a couple months ago surveys showed a willingness for a higher tax on gas to force a change in the auto industry.  The people feeling these higher prices aren't the "rich."  So given the already incredibly high gas taxes and price-increasing federal and state regulations, are we not putting an incredible burden on the "poor"?  On all of us?  The result of depending on government to fix our problems, rather than fixing them ourselves.  No, I'm not an anarchist.  I want to see the green fad put aside, Congress to stop profiting from the oil industry (yes, Congress... not the President), and the power of the intelligent consumer to drive (no pun intended) for serious changes (read: not corn) to this industry that is far in need of updating.  What do you need to rant about today?

It is only 8:00 AM here so it is too early to rant about much. On my blog I guess that I just did "rant" against the rain and the US postal service so maybe it is not too early to rant. Today I am glad to see sunshine, warm weather without wind and flowers in bloom. I love your flag pictures. The OH flag intrigues me. New Mexico's is too plain.

Awesome flag pictures. Now I'm gonna be singing "God is bigger than the boogey man" all day because of you. :O)

I think sometimes our minds can't comprehend how great and big God is. I think as society we are independent. Which sometimes is a good thing, but it's not when we aren't depending on God.

I could rant about gas as well, I work 25 miles away from home and gas is not going down. I can't stand that I have a little car and it cost me over $30 to fill it up.

    Have a great day!

That was a very sensible rant...wish they would teach that sort of critical thinking in all the schools!

I think all office buildings between 10,000 and 30,000 square feet should be 80% dependent on solar energy to power everything, be it computers, faxes, printers, HVAC, lights, the whole bit. That would SIGNIFICANTLY reduce our dependence on oil and we wouldn't even need to change our driving habits [which could use some changing!] I say office buildings because they probably use more energy than a home on the average and because they typically have a flat roof which has no aesthetic appeal [notice all the things sticking up out of them?] so putting some solar panels on top really wouldn't change anyone's perception of the place. If I get my way, sometime in my lifetime I'm going to have a mostly solar-powered home. Did you know you can SELL your unused energy back to the power company?

It is a little known fact that government profits more off the taxes of the oil companies that the CEO's make in profits. Who is price gouging now?

Nothing ~ my heart just feels joyful today ~ except after shopping all over town, I cannot find the exact type of wall art I want for my front porch ~ surely somebody frames prints in white, don't they?

My rant: Men are SO hooked on the physical. I'm a pretty girl. I'm a bit bigger, but I'm pretty. I wish guys could see that I'm worth dating.

I agree on the gas rant.  Prices that jump 20 cents or more in one day have no relationship to reality.  The whole thing is just a mess.
