  • Keeping It Simple, Complicating It, and Silly Photo

    Simplicity
"Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made" (John 1:3).  Nothing was made apart from Him.  Who's "Him"?  The Word, that was with God and was God (John 1:1).  The Word that became flesh. (John 1:14).  Jesus Himself, through whom all things were created.  Jesus, who brought us grace and truth (John 1:17). I love the opening 18 verses in John's gospel, as it beautifully summarizes all of scripture.  We so often complicate it all, forming rules and regulations, bringing religion upon others.  I've heard religion excellently defined as our attempt to reach God.  Christ is about relationship, having done all the work already.  Christianity is about God reaching us.  The difficulty in Christianity is not changing to follow rules, it's letting Him change us to follow Him.  Stop working so hard at it and start letting Him do the work in you.

    Silly

    Coughing and Taxing
It's been a long time since I posted in the afternoon, except on Sundays.   I think my wife has passed on to me whatever illness she had.  Plus the heat does a good job of zapping what energy is left.  It's a good thing that most of my work today will be on the computer, because I don't believe I have the energy to get out and do much more!  I'll enjoy the peace as the little guy naps and the radio and tv remain turned off.  I had the radio on long enough to hear the wonderful news that our loving US Congress essentially raised taxes.  That just fills me with such joy... especially after yesterday's rant!  I'm left far more thankful that I have a God that is far greater than such silly struggles as taxes, prices and illnesses.  As for the photo, some days you just need silly.  What do you believe is the most important issue before Congress (or your own government) currently?

I like that definition of Christianity.  It really is all about God reaching out to us.  ryq I must confess that I don't keep up with what Congress is doing much.  I try to stay away from the news as much as possible.

Immigration issues. They keep ignoring it acting like it'll go away, but it's not, and they need to address it.

Interesting, hollywood was overjoyed when the democrats took over and the queen b Pelosi at the helm, but gee, they did just what they said they wouldn't...raising taxes.

Pelosi and Rangle are against US citizens putting their social security into private savings accounts. Why is that?

Answer: So they can dip their hands in it and do what they want to, rather than allowing us to do what we want to w/ it.

As for me, I think they need to make tougher laws against child rapist, molesters and pedophiles. Studies have proven over and over child rapist can not be rehabbed, so I totally think they should have tougher laws, none of this 3 to 10 time offenders, no 3 strikes your out business, you rape a child, you go to jail and not come out. - Or I suppose they could tie a millstone around his neck and throw him into the sea...?

RYC: that's a good question. most of the time on your homepage it'll say: so and so has commented on your note (insert note title here) and that's usually how it is. but it's kinda messed up since if you have a lot of freinds it constantly shows what they did aka: so and so has joined the group ____ or so and so has tagged so and so in 39035 pictures, etc. XD
