Simple Question - Please Share
I'm heading out this morning for a three-day conference. Although there is the possibility of internet access in the hotel, I'm not positive and thus cannot promise any updates until Sunday. So it is a good time for a big question. Please feel free to respond with your thoughts, but please do respond. I'm interested in reading the thoughts.
What do you believe makes up a local church? Or perhaps, how do you define "local church"?

If I were using the term "my local church", I'd be refering to the church my family attends on Sunday. We are members and participate in bible studies, prayer groups, support missions through that church and enjoy the fellowship.
Then there's the local churches in my area, made up of many congregations, with people I know in each one. We are still one body, and help each tother in different ways, sharing knowledge, our gifts and fellowship.
Then there is "The Church" which is the body of believers that covers the earth. We are brother and sisters wherever we meet..it's amazing
Hmmm...that's a good question. I have to go with what Dan (Theologians Cafe) said. It definitely doesn't have to be in a building, we are supposed to be the church.
Have a great conference. :O)
I happened to see your screen name and thought I'd stop by.
What makes up a local Church? the local Christians.
Since the Church is the body of Christ, then I would say that the local Church is all the members of that body together. I really wish the members could get allong sometimes though!

My definition of a "local church, " is a group of believers gathering together to worship the Lord and to encouraging one another in Christ. To bless the Lord as well as each other, laying down their lives for each other, helping each other and praying for each other as well as reaching out to the lost.
