Our Mind Working, My Fingers Thinking, and Photoless Day
The Human Brain
We were made in such an extraordinary way. "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you" (Psalm 119:11). Our hearts and minds are designed in such a way that in the darkest tempting moments or in seemingly hopeless times the things we need will come back to mind. We often dwell on the immediate when we think about how God's Word does not return empty, but we often fail to think of the long-term. When we've exposes ourselves to His Word, especially in more than just casual once-in-a-while reading, we plant the seed of that knowledge deep in ourselves. Then in the moments we need it for ourselves or to help others, our minds connect everything related to bring a needed verse(s) to mind. A wonderful design He put into place.Thinking with my fingers
I'm craving a trip. Whether it be a lack of photographing (as today's post shows), the weather, or others traveling soon, something about this week has me wanting to go adventuring somewhere. Tennessee of course comes to mind, as there's plenty of out-of-the-way woods and mountains there. I don't particularly enjoy the heat or sweating, but I would love to be out far away from the air conditioned houses and deep in the woods with my camera (we get along very well when we're alone). I do silly things when I'm out like that though. Things that could lead to serious injuries were I clumsier! But then that's part of the fun. I'm not as much that way when others are around because I don't want anyone else getting hurt. My wife hates that though, as she's as much as an adventurer (though perhaps a little more prone to accidents). ... Just thought I'd let some dreaming work it's way out through my fingers today. Have you had to turn the air conditioning on yet?

We turned on our air conditioning a good month ago.
I have been wanting to take a trip myself.
last year we wished we had one...3 weeks of extreme heat in July.
Reading the Word of God has changed my life, I used to think everything was shades of grey, but putting His word in my mind and taught me to recognize things that are true, lovely, good and pure. And to recognize the things that aren't.
