A Little Change, A Lotta Stuff, and Firetruck Photos

Change, sir/ma'am?
Have you yet come to "Peniel" in your life (meaning "Face of God", named by Jacob [Genesis 32:30])? What did you do there? How did you react? Jacob became a new person, complete with a new name. Noah became the servant of God, that was used to spare humanity. Abram became the father of nations, also with a new name. Moses became the bold vessel for God to use to save His chosen people. It's notable that none of these men were perfect. None were made perfect after their encounter(s) with God. But they were changed and sought to be faithful to God. What was your moment when you faced God? Your place of Peniel? Did you allow yourself to be changed for the better? Did you struggle against it, finding yourself limping away. Or turn away from it completely, changed for the worse?
"Woah-woahs daddy!"
A rough weekend, though of course there were definitely good parts. Unfortunately, I doubt there will be a lens upgrade anywhere in the near future. I was hoping to get rid of some things no longer needed to raise the money, but the quotes given to me were horribly negligible. I'm having trouble just having enough support in working with the church start. So needless to say, it wasn't an easy weekend. After a good time Sunday afternoon with church friends, I decided to take my camera out for some personal time when I saw that there was about to be a fire run. I stopped and got ready just in time for the first shot. A split second later might have made for a better shot. Oddly enough, the second shot of the same engine was taken sixteen minutes later elsewhere while I was shooting a couple abandoned buildings (one in the background). I think the weather added to the shots. Have you ever had the fire department or rescue units come to your aid?

I like the new watermark
We had a woodstove when I was growing up and once my mom emptied the ashes outside and apparently dropped a hot coal next to one our plastic garbage cans. When the fire truck pulled up in front of the house and the firemen raced between our house and the neighbor's, we discovered that both our plastic garbage cans were burned up as well as half the neighbor's backyard...
My screen name is "aht-hah-lay-yah" ("ah" like you're opening your mouth for a dentist) and it's Hebrew. It's usually translated "lioness of God" and literally means "lioness shouting or roaring praise to God"
I've not had fire trucks come to my aid, but I have had rescue personnel. I've ridden in an ambulance a couple times and when Faith was born they flew me to Lexington in an Air-med helicopter.
I've spent most of my career chasing them, though.
BTW, those are silly looking fire trucks! Silly to me, anyway. They don't look like Kentucky fire trucks.
My Peniel was during a time of brokenness, when God squared up with me, and basically see that I was not trusting in Him... kind of a scary place... but I saw the error of my ways...(Praise the Lord!)
Emergency vehicles? Yeah, when I was 12, I got hit by a car and knocked about 30 feet... I think my mom thought I was dead...
They found my doggy when she got loose.
I love them.
