| | Ok drumroll please. Time for the long awaited post...
So... the trip was amazing. Different than last year but the same too. It was a cool experience being "experienced" kind of knowing what I was doing was cool. It was fun getting to know everyone. God really got at me during the week too which was pretty awesome. Ok but ill give you my number one highlight. So this one day we were building and this kid i saw so i went up and started talking to him. His name was Luis... and he was cool so just trying to use as much spanish as i could i asked how old he was and he was 10 then i asked him if he liked sports and he said yes i love soccer. So he went home and got his soccer ball... it was flat but he didn't care. We played for like a half hour then he got thirsty so i got him some water. But anyways I had this necklace on and he really really liked it so i had forgotten my toys that day so I asked him if he wanted the necklace... and his eyes lit up real big and he said yes. So i gave it to him and he was ecstatic. He immediatley said thank you and that we were good friends now. Then he told me to wait for a second he had to go home. So he's gone for like 15 minutes, so i go to work and he comes back holding a necklace for me.... it was so cool he brought me back a gift.
But then it was time to say goodbye. It was hard... i was emotional because i had become attatched. He gave me a hug and just stood by the van door as people were climbing in. Then we shut the door me saying adios the whole time. Then he peered in the tinted window to see my one last time... and i waved at him. It was sad. BUT THATS NOT THE END OF THE STORY
So Shelly went back the next day to take that family food because they couldn't afford food at all. so she goes back there to give them food. When she came back to the mission she was like oh Jordan I'm supposed to bring you greetings from that boy you played with yesterday. He wanted to know where you were today and he missed you. so he remembered me. I just pray somehow he can come to God. I will probably never see him again which hurts but owell.
Luis your the man!
