I frequently tell my students "regret at chances not taken will ruin your life, if you let it. You can accomplish miracles, you can be anything you want to be, if you want it badly enough to pay the price."
@Lmoisan - Thank you.
@My_HAT_is_older_than_you -(she tips her hat and smiles)
@seedsower - Thanks for stopping by the dream day.
@jassmine - Thank you and I look forward to sharing with you.
@MlleRobillard - And so worthy of the dream we are.
@stixandstonz - Thank you. I agree.
Very good quotes. I have always been fond of that last quote by Thoreau.
The first quote has been a fav of mine for a long time. I believe Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens is the author.
Nice pic!
@llibra - I'm glad to hear who it was. One of my favorite writers.
@Jolteus33 - I think we imagine for our jobs, our family, our friends and somtimes for complete strangers. The life lesson to move me forward has been to imagine a life for myself.
day dreaming is among my favorite past times
i definitely believe in dreams and have been witness
to some of my wildest ones coming to fruition-great post!Great post! I must say the Updike quote surprises me. It really doesn't gel with what he believed. What's it from?
@bodhitree - Hey you're here. Are you all moved in? Is the new place dreamy? Have you had anytime to dream/rest?
@FireNBarbedWire - I have a little book called daydreamer that has quotes on dreaming and places to make notes about your dreams,hopes, ideas for the future. It was put out by a marketing company for "bareMinerals". When I posted about my dreams before this post, this book fell out of a box I was moving in the garage. I flipped through it and found these great quotes and came on in to share them on this post.
Awesome girl!!
@Jaynebug - That's awesome! I'm just surprised he said something like that, because I remember reading that he was the one who always lined up Christianity against existentialism in his literature... Case in point would be "The Astronomer," one of his short stories from Pigeon Feathers," a story I really do love. Check it out! "The Astronomer"
Come by my site often and let's get to know one another. Judi
@jassmine - Okay Judi. Thank you!
@FireNBarbedWire - Are dreams linked to Christainity or Nature? Both? Isn't it a fine line we walk in our minds when we must discern someones elses perspective from a few words. Thanks for the link.
@Jaynebug - I was not trying to discern a perspective, nor was I saying which one that he held. I was saying that based on what I've read about and by Updike, it doesn't sound very much like his usual subject matter.
