I planted some seeds on a whim this spring.
Sunflowers.
I did not expect much, as the tiny sprouts I planted in the ground bore much trauma at the hands of mighty mulch man aka Ed.
This side of the house is not very attractive.
My clothesline is there, a noisy playroom window air conditioner is there, the trash and recycling cans are stored there.
And now, there is a sunflower garden, half a dozen or so stalks. The leaves are enormous.
And the blossoms... the blossoms are like postcards from the Universe,
telling me that moments of beauty create positive vibration.
A meditation upon nature's mandala.
The promise of the next moment is there.
And this brings me peace.

My Sister-in-law loves sunflowers I think they are very pretty in a different way!!!!!!!!
Oh, wow.
Wonderful pictures. Wish my flowers would grow like that. The picture with the bee in it is really cute.
