I may be having a mid-life crisis.
I haven't decided yet.
I find myself mentally revisiting moments and places and people I have known.
Sometimes just back to the beginnings of Ed and I,
sometimes much further than that, back and back and back. It's not a compulsive thing in my head, but at least once a day something will send me back to some random memory or memorable feeling. And it is hard to resist just dwelling there a moment or more, feeling the memory for the first time again.
Doesn't that just sound so pathetic and well... stereotypical of a woman in her late 30s?
I can't figure it out, why the sudden onslaught of reminiscence and melancholy.
I'm not over the edge, or feeling depressed... in fact I feel brighter each day recently, but I cannot help but notice this urge.
This impossible and redundant urge to go back.
So weird.
I know, I know.
I am.
Good night.

I think when people start approaching a certain age it's hard NOT to look back.
You gotta love the last picture.
"Wait, let me get this hose out of the way"
Ahh memory lane..
I've always loved your honeymoon picture!
Nothing wrong with trips down memory lane. Always, a song, or a smell, will take me back in time, too (and all too often, a child's voice, whine, or cry will jerk me right back to reality! LOL!).
It's not a mid-life crisis. It's not even really a "crisis" it's called "growing up". We do it from the moment of our birth -- and if we don't take these little excursions down memory lane, what is life for?
The joy is in creating new memories for that walk. So go ahead and chronicle it all -- because in five, ten, twenty years -- the memories will be richer. Deeper, and so will you.
~muah!
(PS -- I wish like hell you could go to the retreat too ... maybe you could put up a button here? I truly need ten more people to sign up by the end of February or I may have to cxl. b/c I can't pony up the rest of the ca$h on my own! Stupid Money. LOL!)
I cannot resist the urge to comment on these most shiny of photos.
#1 - makes me so miss Florida, but Ed's gear is out of balance with those shoes. God made flip-flops for a reason - hello.
#2 - I'm not one to use the word "cute" often... but... CUTE!
#3 - Wow, that little guy looks happy.
#4 - Nice tux... and the blue dress, the 80s hair and all = me swooning. Interesting inclusion of Green Pants Lady, too.
Thanks for making me smile. Plus, I love thinking back... and looking forward... and living Now.
BE blessed!!
Steve
I love that first picture of you and Ed, always have
Maybe you're just feeling extra pensive lately, I wouldn't think of it as a mid-life crisis. I have times when I feel like sitting somewhere and just thinking about things. And you probably have some nice memories to revisit!
