I am voting for Obama. I wish I could vote for Hillary. As a woman, I want to vote for Hillary, but I trust her about as much as I trust Dick Cheney or George Bush (either one). It's a sad thing for me, that I cannot support the first woman in a genuine position to become president. I voted for Bill, twice, in spite of the blow job. I don't care how you get your kicks, just run the country in a peaceful and loving way. I thought he did his best, though I don't trust him much either. I loved Hillary, and then she "moved" to New York and became senator. It wasn't the farce of geography that made me see her differently, I could not have cared less about that. I don't know what it was exactly, but somewhere along the line I realized that Hillary is not going to fix things any more than Bill did. Probably less now that our executive branch is all powerful. Honestly, I am not sure Obama can fix things, or if things in this country are fixable. Will any of the candidates repair all the damage done to our constitution? Will anyone reinstate our rights that have been taken away? Will anyone stop this stupid war? Who knows. But I like his message. And I feel the slightest prickle of hope when I hear him speak. And I think his heart is in the right place and that he is the only chance we have to fix things. Still, I approach a state hopelessness in all matters governmental, local or federal. But I am voting for Obama. I hope he wins the nomination or I may not be able to vote. I'm not sure if my vote truly counts at all or if any presidential election result can be trusted anymore. But it's all I've got. And I am giving it to him. Good night.
I took an online survey and I'm supposed to vote for Gravel. Whoever the heck that is.
I'll decide who I'm going to vote for when I get to the polling place. I'm waffling.
Same here. I took a look at both their websites, especially the "issues" section. I saw that she focuses more on the problems while he focuses more on solutions. I believe we get what we focus upon, thus I would rather vote for someone who is looking for solutions. I agree, his heart seems more in the right place, imo.
I don't know much about American Politics other then what I get from Stewart and Colbert, but I've seen him speak and I like his heart, too.
Obama is against ending the war and for going to war with Iran. I don't like him. I have one of those voter information sheets which I got from a peace action coalition on Staten Island, and Obama's stands aren't much different from the republicans. Hilary either. She's even opposed to gay marriage. I am gravely disappointed in them both, and am hoping on prayers for the politcal situation in this country.
I read Obama's book, The Audacity of Hope. It's been a huge eye opener, and I fell in love with him. I began reading his policy ideas, his vision. Then my son joined the campaign headquarters in Ohio ... and told me more.
Our country NEEDS this man. In a HUGE way. I'm gonna BaRock the Vote!
I was once a solid Republican -- it began when I was 18 and I voted for Ronald Reagan. That ended with Bill Clinton, and I could give a shyte who sucked his cigar. In most countries, that wouldn't have even raised an eyebrow. America is a little behind the times with our bizarre sense of ethics and we can be a bit hypocritical. Ah yeah ...
I was very sorry I voted for Bush, even though I tried to defend him on a few occassions -- but Barack is our man. Indeed.
I respect your opinion, Jenny, but I am Hillary all the way. There are many reasons, but the final one is that Obama is so damn pissy and such a sore loser, dirty fighter. Still, if he gets the Democratic ticket, he'll be my vote in November.
Found you through F. Hi!
I stayed up until four am fretting about this. reading everything i could I agree with your sentiment about wanting to vote for hillary. I want a woman in office.
but today, i voted for a man. but even until the last second, when i was holding my sheet so hard it wouldn't slide in the box feed, i was pausing, wondering.
funny story: i was (well. technically *am*) married to a devout Catholic and staunch Republican (he wasn't this was when I met him). Anyway, he donated some of our money to a pro-life lobbying organization. So, I took our entire year's tithing and donated it to Obama organizations. This was many years ago, when Obama 09 sounded ludicrous.
Not Me but thats what America is all about ....correct....have a Wonderful day ERIN
Thanks for the congrats.
I wanted Edwards because he seems most dedicated to blue collar issues. But I will be pleased to vote for Obama, as well. If Hillary is the nominee, I will vote for her over a McCain/Huckabee ticket. Still, I think she is a weak nominee who brings more negative baggage to the fight than positive. I have to say though that anyone who thinks Obama is a dirty fighter and not Hillary might have a touch of selective myopia.
