Leaving, on a jet plane!!!

So tonight, I'm leaving for China!!!  It's been an amazing journey to get to this place...I'm incredibly pumped.  Pray that God continues to teach me to love Him from the inside out.  I bless you guys in leaving and ask for your prayers that God would allow us to impact the hopes and dreams of those who we meet.  I'm excited to tell you all about it when I get back.  Have a great summer and I'll see you guys soon.

Team China

 China called me the other day on my personal cell phone requesting my presence. Apparently, the government wishes to acclimate their citizens to massive numbers of white people attending the Olympic Games this summer.

This is an excerpt of our conversation: "We are are afraid 'the great white' will startle our people. Would you be so kind as to bring your pre-emptive whitety-whiteness to our land?"

I agreed.

So I need your help, in order that me and my whiteness makes it to China this summer...

Every summer, Biola sends student-led worker trips to various countries. This year I will be co-leading a trip to Xi’an, China. My team and I will have the amazing opportunity to study the Mandarin Chinese language, with the purpose of being able to better understand the culture and communicate with the people. Additionally, a portion of the trip will be spent teaching English to Chinese students, loving on orphans, doing one-on-one relationship building, and teaching children English through Dad's stories.

I will be co-leading on a team of 7 Biola students and our vision is that the Chinese people would be convinced of love through our lives as we live out Dad's reality in China with the expectation that Dad will do greater things than we could ever hope for or imagine. We seek to be united as a team as we abide so that through us, love will be shown to the people we meet.

This trip from June 25rd-August 7th, will be a step of faith for me, and I am asking that you would join with me in my step of faith by supporting me in prayer and/or financially. The cost of the trip is approximately $3,000, which will cover meals, lodging, airfare, and tuition.

If you decide to support me financially there are two ways in which you can support:

1.  By Phone:  800-632-4652, they'll ask for your credit card # and tell them it's for Justin Green with Student Missionary Union, Team China.

2.  By Mail: please make any check payable to Biola University. (Also, please do NOT put my name on the check anywhere, as Biola will not be able to issue you a tax-deductible receipt if you do; instead put my name on a separate piece of paper in the same envelope as the check). If you plan to give, please send your support as soon as possible.  Our support was due last week, however, I am still in need of $1000 to be able to go personally, so I wanted to throw this out to my brothers and sisters here on xanga to ask for your support.  Thanks for your love...it truly blesses me.

While financial support is important, your requests to Dad are also extremely coveted as they will truly be the means of supporting myself and my team. Please talk to Dad especially for team unity during this whole process, and for the people we will be meeting in China. You play such an important role of my life and I am so thankful for your support and talking to Dad.

White people seem really tall in China...

Please ask for the unity of our group and that hearts will be prepared in China.  I love you guys and want to ask you guys to talk to Dad about some specific things:

1. Team Unity- If the people of China don't see us for our love for one another than we are knowing. Ask that we might not be deceived as to whom our battle is for and against. Ask for wisdom and insight into eachother and how we might love one another

2. Open Hearts- We want to be able to love those in Xian and Xianyang. Ask that their hearts will be prepared to receive the Love that we have to offer.

3. FUNDS!!! We still need to come up with about $8,000 (I personally have to come up with a little over $1,000) and the money was suppose to be in last week. However, we received a loan from the school and we're GOING!!! But we still have to come up with the funds. Please ask Dad for financial support...and if you can give, please give generously,,,I feel that all of my major supporters have given so I'm not sure where this final thousand dollars is going to come from. If you supported my attempt to go to Thailand, know that you check was destroyed and never cashed, so please send another if you would like to support my trip.

4. Rest... Several of my teammates have reported a lack of sleep, and with finals coming up...it doesn't look like it will get better any time soon. Ask Dad for deep, peaceful rest for each of my teammates and myself.
