Cabin fervor
For some strange reason, I can't get rid of my children. They all had busy and exciting weekends planned, and now their weekends are cancelled. I can't even get them to go visit their friends in the neighborhood. The strange reason? A forecast snowstorm that is supposed to bring down 4 inches of snow today, and 8 tomorrow.
Yes, 12 inches of snow in a weekend would stop traffic in this town, and I don't have a problem with that. My problem is that we didn't get the snow. We saw a half inch today, and almost all of it melted. Maybe we will have more tomorrow, but right now, there isn't a flake in the sky. Still, my children are huddling under blankets watching tv instead of being out with their friends.
When I was their age, I would have volunteered to walk five miles uphill in freezing weather to attend a valentine's party, a hockey game, a lock-in, or a ski trip. I'm not getting a whimper out of these little couch potatoes.
I will say I did get out. I needed hamburger buns for dinner, so I walked up to the store. It was a nice stroll, very peaceful. there wasn't anyone else out, except for a man trying to snowboard in his backyard. He wasn't having much luck with the half inch of snow.

frost is the problem we have right now but no doubt more snow will come.
me too!
was so anxious about going out because of the "snowstorm" and I didn't even see a single flurry! But I think the weather is going to make up for it tonight and tomorrow.
*cringe* I shudder at the thought of all that snow that I will have to shovel off come Tuesday.
