Being heard
After sleeping on it, the issue (see previous post) still bothered me, so I called the woman who is the pack chairman (she coordinates all the committees and dens). She is also the mother of two boys in different dens, including one in mine, and she also is a very fundamentalist christian who homeschools her children. I figured that if anyone could give me a useful perspective on the situation, she could.
To my great pleasure, she was one hundred percent supportive. She said that she agreed with my philosophy that boys of all faiths should feel equally welcome in our den, and that the actions I described could make a boy of a non-christian faith feel unwelcome. She said that she would discuss it with the Cubmaster, and and one of the two of them would take it up with the parents of the boys. I was very happy that she was willing to take it off my hands.
She is one of those people who shares her religion the right way - her family lives their faith, and people who see them and want the kind of happiness they have are automatically drawn to the faith that binds them together. I have always admired that trait when I've seen it. I have talked to Jim about having a faith-centered family, but I don't think he sees it the way I do. To him, faith is a very private thing, and he seems to have difficulty sharing, even with us. I respect his feelings, but I know our family is weaker as a result.
Anyway, it's Veteran's Day, and we should all find a way to show a veteran how much he or she is appreciated. I had sex with one, and that was very well received. However, a simple thank you can be good, too.

OK, I snorted coffee out my nose on that one. lol
I took a vet to lunch. It never even entered my mind to offer him sex in place of Kung Po Chicken!

Does this mean that you will remain the leader of your Den for a bit longer? :o)
Happy Veterans Day to Jim. So you're helped him to work out the kinks in his back. <Grin>
