  If you ever find yourself on the beach with a preschooler, you may find yourself struggling to maintain a conversation.  Here are some questions that worked well for me today:

  • Why does the sun go behind the clouds instead of in front of them?
  • What color boogie board works best?
  • Which type of bathing suit is better for swimming?  for getting a tan?  for going to the bathroom?
  • What's the best way to get sand out of your swimsuit?
  • Why are there so many waves next to the sand, but out out at the horizon it looks flat?
  • What do you think that seagull wants?
  • Why does going to the beach make us hungry?

  Some days I love that we live in a resort town.  Summers are terrific here.
