• Compromise achieved

  Perhaps some of you are wondering about how Jim and I resolved the slot car table issue.  We spoke last night and agreed on this solution - we would keep the slot car table in the place Jim has reserved for his future pool table up until Jim gets his pool table.  How soon will Jim get his pool table?  Well, there are a few things we agreed that we need to spend money on first:

  • Bunk bed for Ben
  • New bedroom suite and mattress for us
  • Family room furniture
  • Living room furniture
  • Dining room furniture
  • Finish the basement walls and floor
  • HDTV
  • DVD
  • new hot tub with extended deck and privacy wall
  • Mother-in-law suite with sauna in the basement
  • Treadmill and weight machine
  • redo wallpaper, paneling, and drapes
  • send three children to college
  • build sunroom onto the back of the house

  After we do all that, we may be ready to buy a pool table.  In the meantime, the slot car table will provide plenty of entertainment for those of us who don't play pool. 

  Jim is quite the dreamer, isn't he? It never occured to me when I was growing up that I would marry a man that not only wants these kinds of things, but is willing to do what it takes to earn them.
