When reading Romans 4, we see where Abraham committed three not's.
1. - Verse 19 - And being not weak in faith, Abraham considered not his
own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet
the deadness of Sarah's womb.
2. - Verse 20 - Abraham staggered not at the promise of God through
unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.
Have you staggered at the promise of God? The greek word for staggered
is - diakrino - and means to - separate thoroughly, withdraw, oppose,
discriminate, hesitate, contend, doubt, and waver.
Do the promises of God from His word cause you to stagger?
Why don't we believe or trust God and stagger at His promises?
Abraham considered not:
1. - His own body now dead, being almost 100 years old.
2. - The deadness of Sarah's womb, her being 90 years old.
Abraham being strong in faith, didn't consider those things. He didn't even
think about it. In order to consider something, you need to think about
it.
What does the deadness of Sarah's womb represent for us, and how can we
apply that to our own lives?
The deadness of Sarah's womb represents a natural and physical
impossibility. She was 90 years old and way past the time of being able
to have children, but God gave Abraham a promise that Sarah would give
birth to another child, and Abraham believed God's promise and didn't
even consider the deadness of Sarah's womb.
What impossibilities do you have in your life?
Are you considering the impossibility and deadness of the situation you
are in?
Do you have the three not's in your life?
THIS WEEK ALONE I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT MY LACK OF FAITH IN THE LITTLE THINGS. I SEEM TO HAVE A LOT OF FAITH, OR SO I FEEL, WHEN IT COMES TO GOD DOING THE IMPOSSIBLE, TURNING SITUATIONS AROUND. I HAVE EVEN SEEN THOSE KIND OF MIRACLES, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THE LITTLE SITUATIONS, LIKE MY CURRENT TOOTHACHE WITH JAW PAIN, I ALWAYS FORGET TO CONSULT GOD FIRST! NOT SURE WHY THAT IS! I GUESS I JUST FORGET HE'S GOOD FOR THE LITTLE THINGS AS WELL! I JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT HE CAN DO ALL THINGS!
I HOPE THIS IS CLOSE TO WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. YOU ARE ON A MUCH HIGHER PLANE THAN ME MOST OF THE TIME, BIBLICALLY, BUT I DO MY BEST TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS! AS I TELL YOU ALL THE TIME, I LOVE THE THOUGHT-PROVOKINGNESS THAT THEY OFFER ME. THEY REALLY MAKE ME USE MY HEAD!!!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, MY FRIEND!
LOVE, CHERYL
Thanks Larry. It means a lot.
Thank you Larry I pray a great weekend for you too my brother !
I hope the only time I stagger is when I'm God intoxicated . I am excited by His promises and give myself to him each day for His transformational work with in me to change me and grow me into the spiritual image of His Son Jesus !

Is it cooling off out there ?

Good to read your blog Larry, hope you are well! Is it cold your way yet? It's low 70's here in the DFW area.
†God Bless!
I'm not always able to accomplish the "three nots". But I keep giving myself to God and trying to take my hands off so he can work in me. I cling to the verse, "We have these exceeding great and precious promises, whereby we are made partakers of the divine nature."
To think that the Almighty Creator of the Universe would invite me to share in a small part of his divine nature! Hardly believable, and yet he said it. Thank God for his great promise4s, and that his Word is true.
ryc I was pulling for the d-backs to get to the series, sorry they didn't make it. good thoughts here as usual Larry. Good to see you back around. you were missing for a while there.
Abraham was such a great example of faith.
The story of Abraham intrigues me, because we live in an age where even among the faith-interested there is this notion that we must "consider the possibilities rationally" which in other words means to live their life so sensible that there is not an inch left to believe in things that they haven't seen. It did not say that "Abraham noticed that his body and sarah's womb were dead but reasoned to himself that God would fulfill his promise somehow." It said that Abraham had [not even thought of that]. That to me is among the truest of examples for childlike faith. The possibility had not even entered his mind that the birth of his son. He very clearly never denied the impossibility, because if he were to have denied it, that would've meant that he, at least in some small way, believed in it or noticed it. But rather than this, Abraham was so unconscious of himself and so completely conscious of the promises of God, the result was real, raw, childlike faith.
I've had so many people give me such a watered-down version of faith...suggesting that I should "trust God but still consider my options." Abraham considered no options. And it was imputed to Him as righteousness.
VERY good encouragement, Larry! I see myself growing in these, as well I need to.
thanks again

Re Author Blog: It might be gmail account accessible only. I tried to access it after I signed out and it asked me for my gmail account. I could change the privacy to "anyone" but I want to use the blog to post stuff about my story and I'm hesitant to just let anyone see it. If the gmail only thing is accurate, then I might have to loosen the privacy setting.
Re "my twin": That's unreal. Almost like looking at a mirror. Kinda cool, in an odd sort of way.
