The Tree
Today was tree trimming torture day!
I spent a week getting the living room pretty in preparation for the arrival of our tree. So what does my husband do? He gets every box, bag, basket and barrel from the attic that he could find, and dumps them all into the foyer.
The first order was to choose a foreman to oversee the job of tree trimming. We chose Squeaker.
After stringing-and restringing the same set of dead lights, I gave up and went to the store to buy some new ones. While I was gone, my husband found the ones that work, and put them up.
The tree started out a whole lot bigger. There's a great story behind it, but I'm too tired to tell it all. Anyway, the tree started out big enough to accommodate our huge collection of ornaments.
But after the trimming and pruning and getting it in the stand was done, it was a whole lot smaller.
And after all that, we were very tired.
But I can't sit down just yet. Even though the husband can sit and rest I can't because I still gotta put all this back up in the attic:
Ho, zippity ho.

Beautiful tree! I can't even remember the last time I made an effort to put one up. You've inspired me. Maybe I'll do one this year.
Your Squeaker is sooooo cute. She looks like my Rose.
You're so far ahead of me. If it means anything, I actually thought about decorating earlier this morning.
THose pictures remind me of something a friend said about Los Angeles:
"Remember, underneath all that phoney tinsel...
is the real tinsel."
