  • Well, today's been interesting.
Ds woke up at 6:30 today, I brought him into our room to snuggle, dh promptly took ds back to his room 15 minutes later.  I could hear ds thumping around in his room for the next while, so I know he didn't sleep.  Dh gets up to get ready for work about 7:30, brings ds into bed so he can snuggle.  Ds is happy with that, but not quite catching the concept of sleeping more.
Did I mention ds and I didn't get to sleep until 2am?
Anyway, after trying to calm ds down and get back to sleep, I give up around 8:20.  A.M.
Yesterday the turkey slept until 11:45am or so.
Needless to say, neither of us were happy this morning, and I got to deal with about 3 hours of constant tantrums.  I sent an email to dh telling him I sure wouldn't mind if he stopped by Arby's on his way home for lunch.
Finally got ds calmed down enough and to sleep around 11:30am.  Crawl into my bed for a little catnap.
Then dh came home for lunch.... bearing Arby's!  I think I'll keep him.
Ds then proceeded to take a 2.5 hour nap - quite unheard of lately in this house.  Oy.  How in the world is this gonna work with a newborn?  My hope is that after today he'll go back to his 11pm bedtime and 9/10am wake up routine, that I can handle.

In other bizarre news, I think I've fallen in love.
    Aren't these cute?

    And trim?

So now I have to see how they work before I make my "final" judgement on whether to get a bunch of them (in infant and premium sizes, so half I'd get to use on ds anyway).
The extra soaker inside is just cute, and the organic velour is *so* soft.  I even made ds pet it and he kept saying 'sofff, sofff' (his translation of the word soft).  So we'll see how he likes it - I think he's digging the trimness so far.

when we knew about Eva coming I started to set a better routine and bedtime and such. (granted he always had a routine to some degree) anyhow in my experience two kids will NEVER be on the same timeframe naturally so you might consider guiding him into a routine before the baby comes. if he has the same bedtime every night and same basic wake up time you'll both be a lot more functional during the day.
if you get your son to sleep at midnight but the baby wants to sleep at 7pm then the baby will be up 5 hrs before your son. when will you sleep? you know what I mean?

    oooooh...those dipes are fabulous!

hmmm...don't let turkey sleep until 11:45am. nononono...

sorry 'bout the tantrums and sleeping stuff, though. I know it's a challenge.

mmm..arby's. i've sworn off of arby's completely for several years now, but I recall how good it tasted. :)
