The other day dh and I were talking about the next car we want - while our Subaru is great and all, the leg room in the backseat and space in the trunk leaves much to be desired. I really don't want to go without the AWD next car though, I've gotten spoiled.
Me: I just want Subaru to come out with an AWD hybrid like the (Toyota hybrid) Prius, with a decent amount of road clearance (like the Subaru Outback), leg room like the Prius, *lots* of trunk room, and great mileage.
Dh (in a knowingly smug tone): Oh, you want a (Toyota) Highlander.
Me: Crap.
A Highlander hybrid is $35K+. Which is just a smidge out of our price range. Well, unless we win the lottery. And even then, the Highlander hybrid doesn't get the mileage I'd prefer. I believe the hybrid only gets 35mpg, when the regular Highlander gets 24ish mpg. I much prefer the 50-60mpg that the Prius gets.
Car makers who don't make what I want really annoy me.
ETA:
Ds's longies are almost finished! Finally! Then I can totally concentrate on the newborn wool.
And we're getting a new garage door on Friday or early next week. Home ownership is *fun.*
