We said good-bye to an old family member yesterday.

It was dh's baby. He had it for about half his life - longer than I've been around (well, so far). Poor guy. We just don't have the money right now to maintain and redo it the way it deserves.

But it went to a good family who lives a few miles away, so hopefully we'll see it around. And who knows, maybe we'll be able to buy it back in the future.
Who needs a pool when you have a raft?

Anybody have any stellar (but easy/simple) grilling or campfire recipes?I need ideas/recipes. Really, I do.
It's supposed to go *down* to 93 degrees by Thursday. Yeah. I'm not turning on the oven or stove unless I must. But I'm a little happy that we've got an air conditioner upstairs and another one downstairs to keep the house around 80 degrees.

Nice pool!
Hmmm, you can go with pre-made shish kabobs, canned soup is simple over a fire, baked potatoes/sweet potatoes - you can wrap them in foil and put them right in the coals, cut up chicken/potatoes/veggies ahead of time and wrap in foil, cook the whole packet over the grill for 15 minutes or the chicken is cooked through, of course stuff like pancakes/bacon/sausage/eggs is easily done.
Ms.Doula from MDC here with 3 words for ya, girl..........
FOIL PACKET GRILLING!!!
just throw whatever you are wanting to cool (ANY MEAT OR VEGGI-or BOTH) into a 'packet' you make with foil and butter (2-3 tsp) & seasonings, ect & cover tightly.... throw on grill & in about 20 min.... MMMMmmmmmmmmm YUMMM!!!
(BTW it was 113 here today -so I commiserate)
