  • Holy thunder and lighting Batman!

See that giant snakey-looking mean green blob on the right?  Yeah, we're in it's way.

I started driving down to the gym, and only a drop or two hit the windshield as I sat in the driveway waiting for the garage door to close.  I get 1.5 miles away, and there's already 2+ inches of water in the ruts on the highway.    Debated calling dh (he'd left his work cell phone in the car) to pull all my seedlings to next to the house, but didn't want to subject him to getting soaked.  I promptly turned around and navigated my way home, despite the sky constantly being purple because of all the lightening.  And the lights just flickered...  Anyway, I managed to pull all my little seedlings next to the house, hopefully most if not all will survive.  Maybe there was a cosmic reason I didn't get to start my seedlings when I wanted to (a month earlier than I actually did).

    Cute brown eyes.

I actually did get a few things done today.  Those light green bushy things are clumps of lemon thyme.  Used to be one *giant* clump stuffed into a little edging brick in the backyard.  Purple flower dealies are chives.  Even found some volunteer baby tomato plants hiding out up there under the spiky thing between the dead-looking rosebushes (they're not dead, but really, I should not ever try to transplant roses again).  So I saved three of the seedlings and we'll see what comes up.

More chives.  Can you tell I transplanted it?  It's not dead though, just playing dead.

Up against the house.  Chives, lily bush, chives, rosebush, red onions then walla walla sweet onions.

The onions, plus yet another clump of chives.  They desperately needed to be divided.  Plus chives are yummy.

Dinner.  Well, dh grilled himself some bratwurst, the kid and I had these.  Much better than the national brand names.  And sorta local - they're just on the complete other side of the state (so a 10-12 hour drive or so).
