Last night. It's nice having the burner outside so we don't heat up the house.

Today's endeavor. Chicken stock. You bet your ass I got whole chickens when it's buy-one-get-one-free. And I got a raincheck for 10 more chickens
(yes, the service desk gal gave me a funny look, but I don't care anymore, I'm used to being weird by now). Now to see if they drop the per-pound-price so I can use the rainchecks then... Anyway. Making the stock tonight, plan to let it sit overnight in the fridge so I can skim off the solidified fat, and can tomorrow. Also prepping/chopping tons of veggies for vegetable soup tomorrow as well, plan to heat and can that tomorrow. If the kids cooperate and let me/help me peel potatoes. Off to scavenge for onions from the front yard...

Oh, I need to add the tantrum story from the other day for posterity. My
sister reminded me last night that I should probably write this stuff down
(go say hi, she doesn't bite!).

I think I took something away from the little one... maybe I locked him out of the cabinet underneath the tv - he likes going in there and pulling out all of dh's bachelor-days toys (video games, controllers, etc.) He started his tantrum over by the couches. I sat down on the stairs to watch. He rolls/stomps his way over to me by the stairs, and I get out of his way because, well, he's got a big, heavy head and it hurts when he whacks it against you. So then he's rolling/flopping on the bottom stairs, and proceeds his tantrum to the kitchen where he thunks his heavy head down on the linoleum as he lays there screaming/crying on his belly. A little while later he calms down and takes his teething tablets, but still. Wow. We have our work cut out for us when he's older.

I still have a bunch on the to-do list... At least one, preferably 2 batches of salsa to try, split pea soup, spaghetti (whenever the hell I feel like getting around to it), bruschetta in a jar, seedless raspberry jam if I can go get more raspberries before the first frost, vegetable soup, beef vegetable soup, crushed tomatoes, and as much applesauce as I can stand. We do like our applesauce.
