| I get to go back to Etown in 1 1/2 days and that is the biggest blessing ever! This last week has been a struggle since everyone is back at school except for me! Luckily, yesterday was a really packed day. It started off with my less than pleasant physical but quickly picked up once Gram and I were off to the farm show. Since it was already past lunch time we headed straight to the food, which started out great with me getting a turkey bbq sandwich and then a honey waffle and honey ice cream for dessert. Unfortunately, my stomach didn't enjoy the food as much as my tastebuds and I walked around the rest of the day with a tummy ache . The dairy cows were delightful as ever and I even saw a few that would be perfect for my next leather jacket. I also decided that farmboys like cowboys are HOT and know how to wear their Wranglers! Heck, Gram was even trying to help me spot the hotties-haha! I was a little disappointed because I didn't get to see nearly enough pigs ( I don't know where they all went) but the ones we did see for feeding so hopefully I made my first video of that. I haven't figured out how to recall it yet, so we'll so. The best part hands down were still the crazy chickens. There is nothing like some crazy chicken hair to help brighten your day. Definitely some good times! But my fun day didn't end with the farm show...thankfully Thursday now has one of my new favorite shows...the OC. I headed over to Em's to watch it with her, Suey, and Karen and man was it good. This is definitely a show I will continue to watch once I head back to Etown and hopefully I can turn one of my roommates onto it too. After the OC, Eric and i hung out. We ended up renting Napolean Dynamite, but didn't watch to much of it because we kept talking. Oopsie! Once he left at some late hour my exciting Thursday concluded. It was a good day and I was happy! | | |
| So Linds & Steve finally had a sibling drinking party last Thursday night and it was...well...interesting! It began with Claire and me watching the OC with Steve and ended with Steve hitting on Claire, passing out, and his Johnny Blashford talking to Mom at 2 o'clock in the morning.
Anyway, it was a lot of fun and pretty chill for most of the night. Adrienne, Maria, Claire, and I got to all hang out which doesn't happen to often so it was nice to catch up with the girls. Unfortunately, while we were chatting I happened to mention that I thought Allen was engaged and that led to a number of calls and ended with Adrienne deciding it was definitely time to start drinking. Beer pong was also top on the list of festivities and I think Claire and I sucked it up the best with hitting a combined 3 cups. (But it was only our second time playing so I think we deserve another chance to redeem ourselves). The combo of Johnny and Steve (and later Johnny and Doug, once Steve passed out) were definitely the pong champions. They even showed up the veterans--Scott and Jordan. Apparently those boys don't practice enough.
Fraz and Dave also made an appearance which pretty much rounded out the high school crowd and since we don't get together that often it was really nice to see each other especially since it was Christmas Eve eve. It was also cool to see Justin and amazingly enough Todd (and Todd's friend male-Shannon) didn't annoy me. I do think Todd tried to get with me and smacked my butt once but that can be forgiven.
All in all it was a great time and made me thankful to be at home with my friends who aren't afraid to impromptu party!
| Stephernie Grossnickle is finally 21 and man was the celebration a blast! It semi-started on Friday night at the Emotion show. Great job Roomies and everyone else. It was also exciting because Jess, Julie and Caroline all headed to Etown for the show. Afterwards 14 of us played Telephone Paper--my new favorite game. Of course I can't go into all the details now, but let's just say that Jess is not the innocent Messiah girl I had once pinned her as. :)
Then on Saturday we started the evening off with a heated game of Catch Phrase (Kate, Struls, Tama, Jackie and Lindsay coming out on top) and then we headed to H-burg for a midnight celebration of Steph becoming legal! Our first attempt was to go to a karaoke bar but as we pulled up we decided that not even an alcoholic would enter that bar unless he was already plastered so we quickly pulled a U-ey. We decided that 2nd St was where it's at whatever it is and divided our time between hanging out at Molly Branagen's and playing pool and eating peanuts at the Bourbon Street Saloon. Fun times were had by all and apparently Steph is already a lush because she didn't even feel anything. Granted she only had the equivalent of 3 drinks but still. Here's a pic from our fun night out on the town, which ended with JELLO CAKE!
| Thanksgiving break has been very eventful to say the least! On Wednesday night I headed to the G-man with my cousins and some of their friends and quickly entered a class reunion. You gotta love a town with only 4 acceptable bars and hundreds of drinking-age college/grad students. I think my highlight was seeing Mrs. Lang and Jackie there, with Mrs. Lang's new beau and both of them being flabbergasted that I was old enough to enter a bar. Fun times continued at the Towne Tavern where cheap drinks and a country twang rained supreme. I did have to break out a few moves when Britney came onand later JR and I were checking out guys together. Unfortunately neither of us got the hook up---the guy must have been asexual or something.
Turkey day began with the infamous "Turkey Trot" and mom and dad being interviewed by one of the class acts of the Sentinel. I think my favorite quote was when mom said that it makes a little more room for second helpings. :)
On Friday night Claire and I were hanging out when Scott rang her. She decided it was time to take the plunge and go to a bar in Carlisle. We met up with Scott, Jordan, Dave, Cuthbo, and Sara at the G-man where we drank beer! I still can't believe it, but actually the one thing we had was really good---Snakebite which is a mixture of Woodchuck and Lager. A few pitchers later (including one from Dr. Paviol) we moved onto Fast Eddie's. This is when things got interesting because I was a lil on the tipsy side...not drunk but not sober. Dave's friend Andrew joined us and apparently I am voting for him (a Republican) in 2020. A major highlight was the bar brawl where Jordan had to hold back Tim Gleave from joining in on Mackey v. Whitten. Gotta love Carlisle! But the night wasn't over until we all headed to the Carlisle Diner where I got my fav of a grilled blueberry muffin and homefries. Yummy! I actually think that was the most fun I have had with friends from home since I left for college.
My fun T-giving vaca ended on Saturday night when I headed to Rach and Nichole's for a DQ party. Those I was all alcoholed out it was great to see all the girls and just be crazy with them. I am definitely looking for to Christmas break with them. :)
| Thanksgiving dinner with IV! All I have to say is that all these pre-Thanksgiving Thanksgivings are making me Thanksgivinged (food) out! Props go to Miss Emily Littlehale for the best Squash Souffle ever. Kate decided we could make it and have it as dessert as well as a sidedish and I agree. Best dinner conversation: For some reason we are talking about breastfeeding and someone says that you can breast feed for a long time. And then Kristy informed us, "It's all supply and demand!" Classic. Funny moment: Erik had me stick my arms straight out and spun me on the chair and then told me to move my arms well I should have known better because next thing I knew, I was sprawled out in front of 20 IV-ers. Good times in clumsiness. After dinner we played catch phrase and the girls won the first game, even with me on the team thank you very much! Unfortunately, I was not able to beat out or even match my best clue of "Oh my gosh...calf!" A clue that will go down in history if Erik has anything to do with it. I would like to add Kristy to my list of favorite people, which also includes Craig Chassen, for those in this world who understand how my twisted mind works. If you would like to join my favorite people list try and guess what the true meaning of "Oh my gosh..calf!" | | |
