Kitchen Tips
Lettuce keeps better if you store in refrigerator without washing first so that the leaves are dry. Wash the day you are going to use.
Microwave a lemon for 15 seconds and double the juice you get before squeezing.
A dampened paper towel or terry cloth brushed downward on a cob of corn will remove every strand of corn silk.
Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.
Cure Garlicky Hands : Immediately after chopping raw garlic or after a marinating process, rub your fingers thoroughly with the bottom of a stainless steel spoon under running water. Then wash your hands with soap.

These are all good and useful tips! My Mom taught me to clean onion smell off my hands by using a butter knife under cold running water! I found out later in life it works well on garlic too!!!
welcome to xanga! You have some neat recipes! I read the onion smell thingy somewhere & it works so well as long as you use stainless steel anything works. Blessings to you!
