Johnny Horton - Greatest Hits

see relatedAfter months of discussion, a definite date has been set and the credit card has been used! We will fly out of the Decatur municipal airport on July 22nd. From there we will be dependent on weather, winds, whims and the Canadian Border authorities until we arrive at Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada on the 24th. The plan is (and we know that a man may plan his course but the Lord orders his steps--Proverbs 16:9) we arrive in Anchorage the 26th, get our rv and enjoy a week of Alaska before leaving on the 3rd of August. Our "to do" list includes: a visit to Homer and it's "Spit", a train ride to Seward, a cruise around Resurrection Bay, a river boat ride near Denali, visits to the Tsunami Center, Musk Ox farm, Independence Mine, Iditarod Visitor Center, and several other sites. Whether we get to do all on our list remains to be seen. Selling our Cessna 172 while we are there is also on the agenda so we are praying for God to place the right buyer in our path at the right time.
Our shopping list is being formulated and it includes some interesting items. Alaska has a required emergency kit for all airplanes that includes mosquito head netting, flares, a hatchet and other items. I guess a trip to the nearest Army/Navy Surplus is in order...yea (they are so much fun to visit)!
Lots of stuff to do but through Christ we can do all things!
Dependent on Him,
Rosalinda

You will have so much fun!!!! We spent 9 days in Anchorage last August (my SIL lives there) and we were just saying we can hardly wait until we can afford to go again. We took the train to Fairbanks and did the riverboat trip -- loved it! We drove down to Homer -- loved it! I wish we had been able to take the train to Seward as that is said to be fantastic. Oh, so many fun memories -- enjoy making yours!
Blessings, Laurie
