  • coffee cup wisdom

from a Starbucks coffee cup ... but much more valuable

"Do not kiss your children so they will kiss you back but so they will kiss their children, and their children’s children."

-- Noah benShea, Poet, philosopher and author of Jacob the Baker, Jacob’s Journey and Remember This My Children.

The quote strikes me as an example of what a selfless motive for relationships would look like.  You can replace "kiss" with "love" or "befriend" or "mentor" or whatever... the principle still holds and cuts me down at the core of my self-centeredness when I 'minister' to people.

I dunno who this Noah guy is, but he's nailed the idea.
