  • 2008 Birthday WishList

Another day another twist in life, regardless of how constant things may seem to be, the only thing that remains constant will always be change. I’m turning older going on 23, at this most exciting junction of life. Finally out of college, starting a career, and being independent, meaning racking up debt and paying back student loans. It’s now a balancing act to control consumption and balancing the quality of life.

There’s a list of items that I would like to have by the end of the year that I’m going to be looking forward too obtaining. Why, because it would make me happy to have them, as it will increase my happiness barometer, heighten my sensation, and increase delight? What do you want me to say? PS I just like to hoard things as well.

First on this list, yes, despite everything I do want a Nintendo Wii. I’ve had the great fun of playing this first hand like 2 years ago when one of my roommates got one. I’m not an crazy gamer at all, but I would like to swing and play the tennis game, grow my Pokemon, and play some smash brawls. See a theme here? I want a way to release well stress and well energy, and there’s no better way to smack Jigglypuff around. 8-)

Second, I want sight, and more screen space. It’s about time I get a huge LCD screen. See here, 22in is the new standard, so I have to bump it up to 24in. I would be very happy with a 24in LCD, but the incremental jump from 24 to 26in is like $45, so might as well get that right? Well, sitting 2 feet away from a 26in LCD might make me go blind, but it’s going to be amazing! The gaming experience, the DVD experience, the chat boxes, I can have everything right in front of me, you would think that productivity would increase, but I would wager that productivity would hit an all time low. Still! I would like a bigger LCD screen please.

Third, Sound. I’ve decided that the Bose Companion 3 Series II multimedia speaker system would just be perfect for my room for a simple price of $200. Amazing! It’s Bose, enough said, if you want great sounds with simple clean design, get a Bose.

I want a cooler Camera. Now that I’ve got some time to explore my world I want a camera with RAW capability, so that means I’m going to have to invest in getting a Semi Pro Digital SLR. No better camera for that than a Canon Digital Rebel and the price is well pretty much bargaining now. I can get a whole Canon Rebel EOS XT for about $400. What a steal.

GPS. One Word, okie, I already have a pretty decent GPS system, but it’s kind of not new anymore, and I got both my sisters newer and cooler GPS, so now I’m feeling left out. Time for an upgrade, I already know what I want, so it’s just a wait and she if the price will drop anymore and how quickly I want it.

So the big question is who’s going to get me what? I know it’s a big tech heavy list, but it’s all really useable and practical. I’m a practical kind of guy. I still want cake, balloons, flowers, and all that jazz. Actually, writing up this list points out the seriousness and flaws of our way of life. Consumption is king, and all we want to do is consume.

I want the world to be a better place, and I want to spend more time with the people I love. Mom, Dad, Nick, Kim Anh, & Kim Son. So even if I don’t get any of these things in the near future, I’m still one happy chuck, because I know that I’m loved, now and always.

  • Life Is.

    - Life is... -

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air. You name them: work, family, health, friends, and spirit, and you're keeping all of them in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends, and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged, or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.

    - How? -

Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special. Don't set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you. Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless. Don't let life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live ALL the days of your life. Don't give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying. Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us together. Don't be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn to be brave. Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings. Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only where you've been, but also where you are going. Don't forget that a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated. Don't use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.

Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, and Today is a gift: that's why we call it a PRESENT.

  • What I want for My Birthday

    Birthday Wish List:

So I never update this thing anymore. But hey, my birthday is coming up so I thought that those dearest to me would read this, maybe. And buy me things that I actually need. In addition, I thought that this would be a great time to reflect on this year and well on things that I really need to live a better healthier life.

    Number 1: A Microwave/ Toaster/ Mini Oven.
I just moved into a new apartment and am lacking this basic essential kitchen appliances. A microwave would be so cool, so I can reheat my cold left over food that's always chilling in the fridge. I eat a lot of bread for ham/turkey sandwich and peanut butter.

    Number 2: A passport

    Number 3: Lovely MACs
I really want to get this new laptop before school starts, so I think I'll get this for myself.

Number 4: A Nice Dinner & Birthday Cake?

  • Online blog

Anyone can have a blog, but that doesn't matter. Because this one is mine and mine alone. It's a place for me to focus my attention and share my feelings that I'm feeling at the moment. I'm listening to 12 Girls Band and it's beautiful and sad in a way. It's Chinese and I can not but help that I want to cry right now. I don't know what's wrong with me. Things are going really well, I have nothing to complain about. There's aways a few things that we can work on, and it's never the end of the world. This is not an OMG situation that needs ASAP attention. I think that it's just nice to do a "recording" of the moment, a little pulse check to see what's going on?
It's always about the same topic of school, family, love, and money. Worries, oh I have many...

I like to think of myself as an interesting kind, nice, compassionate person. Sometimes I don't say very nice things, then I wan to apologize, but pride gets in the way and I can't utter those I'm sorry, I didn't mean it to be like that, or act like that. A moment to reflect is something we can all work on. Starting today, I will act upon my sincerity and be true to myself more often.

Sometimes I just want to do something that doesn't seem like it should be done, but I do it anyway. Then there are other times when I should do something, and can't. I know as each moment pass by, it's the end of that moment, and nothing can change it. So why not do it the first time, ask for what I want, and if the answer is NO, then did I lose anything? Lesson learned? Always ask for what you want or need. If you want it, there must be an intrinsic, or extrinsic motivation for wanting.

I feel like a little remiss. Why? There must be a thousand reasons why, it's sooo strange living in someone else's house. Even if you are paying rent. You are not free to do whatever you want, because it's not your personal space.  I guess I just have to get use to it.

Being the outside sucks. Okie, I could have joined into the project, but why was I not in it? It's because we all have baggages and so we all have to make decisions base on our circumstances. Never forget for one second when you come to the table to negotiate anything, see what cards you are holding, what the other person's holding, before, at, and after the meeting. People behave pretty like the schema that they were written to act, people never stray far, and even then, it's according to so rules they have set up for them self.

I very much want to be a good son. My parents aren't doing that great, and I want for them to be well. A life is very fragile, and well there's never a good time to "hang" out with your aged parents, until it's too late. It's like that when you have time and want to travel and take a vacation, you have no moeny. And when you have money, you don't have time, or can't afford to take some time off. You spend your youth working away life, and only in the end do you spend all the money to buy back so of the memories of youth. No, I will live my life, starting today. Why do I waste time! Time is the only thing that's fair, and equal. We all have a set amount each day. 24 hours.

  • BR Love

Okie, so I'm working for BR now and that comes with lots of yummy goodness. Employees Discounts being the best. This morning, while at work at my other job, I decided to like make a major purchase. I bought the deliciously awesome Heritage bag for $425.00.  Not bad at all! One thing we have to remember is that COACH makes all off BR's bags and leather goods. So that's why we justify the high price.  Beautiful isn't it. Because it's going to house my 15inch macbook pro. OMG goodness.
